We recently connected with Amiri King and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Amiri, thanks for joining us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.

I started my cannabis company, Dreamland Tranquility, after using natural cannabis as an alternative to the medications I was taking on a daily basis.

I haven’t taken my anxiety medicine or antidepressants ever since.

I’ve been in business with my partner, Troy Zetch, for almost a year now and the experience has been amazing.

Troy is really the genius behind every product. My role is to design labels, admin the website, and brand every product. Troy is the one who delivers the experience our clients enjoy. He’s really good at this.

My customers struggle with MS, epilepsy, anxiety, PTSD, and more. It has been the best feeling to help people with my products.

Amiri, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I started making comedy videos around 2003. YouTube surfaced in 2006 and I made my first channel in September of 2007. In 2014 I had a video go mega viral and the rest is history.

I’ve done over 1b views across social media. Over 310m on YouTube alone.

I’ve had millions upon millions of followers across social media, but unfortunately I’ve been banned and deplatformed a lot.

I now mainly stick to Twitter ever since Elon’s acquisition. I’m followed by some big names including Andrew Tate, Roger Stone, John Cena, and Tomi Lahren, to name a few.

I’m able to speak more freely about politics and current events on Twitter without the risk of censorship.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?

I met my business partner, Troy, after posting to social media that I would like to start a cannabis company.

Troy, a United States Marine, reached out and sent me some samples of what he can do.

I was blown away! Everything was top tier quality!

Troy has a HUGE passion for this industry and I’ll tell you why. Troy lost his grandmother to cancer, but during her 5 year fight, he provided her with cannabis products and they REALLY helped her in her battle.

When you factor in what cannabis has done for me, this has become a labor of love.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?

I have a friend, Nick White, who really guides me financially. I can always turn to him for solid advice.

Nick is a famous dog trainer as well as the season 1 host of A&E’s ‘America’s Top Dog.’

I’m a very financially irresponsible person. It’s true. Quite the opposite of Nick, who has invested wisely and made sensible decisions with his money.

One piece of Nick’s advice that always sticks with me is, ‘Amiri. Do you want to be rich? Or do you want people to THINK you are rich?’

I drive a 100k vehicle and wear $750 sunglasses.
