We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Amirah Williams. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Amirah below.
Alright, Amirah thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Hidden Gems with Amirah is all about shining a light on the people, places, and stories that often get overlooked. Holboy Entertainment and I created this show to celebrate the heart of our communities—whether that’s a family-owned restaurant, a small-town boutique, or a local festival that brings everyone together. For me, it’s not just about travel or discovery, ( or really good food) it’s about the connection we have to our community; and being able to show the beauty in our own small towns. As well as reminding people that there’s so much to appreciate right where we are, and there is so much magic in the Pacific Northwest. Our mission is to uplift these Hidden Gems, share their stories, and inspire others to explore the magic that is right at their own doorstep.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I first got into the creative world of media and cameras in high school when I took a photography and photoshop class! I really got to explore this side of myself a few years later through Wesley Holboy, the owner of Holboy Entertainment. About two years ago, I joined the team and have had the honor of being mentored by him. Getting to where I am today has taken consistent work and determination, navigating through a ton of learning lessons, but it’s been worth it because I get to do what I love. As a creative, both a photographer, videographer, and host, I’m always looking to capture the beauty around me. I love preserving life as it happens, because memories, in all their forms, matter. When I get the privilege of working with someone, their moments and stories are my top priority. I feel fortunate not only to do what I love, but also to have a mentor who has been dedicated to supporting me along the way.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding part of being a creative is to watch stories come to life. Whether its an idea I have, or watching other people’s ideas come to life being a part of any project is something I love. The finished product is what I truly love, seeing all of the hard work and dedication put into a project is really rewarding. I feel very lucky to be able to be creative for a living.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I’ve always wanted to be part of something bigger than myself, and I feel that way every time I get to be creative. When I’m hosting, I feel connected to my community, and when I’m behind the camera, I feel connected to other people’s stories—and that’s truly an honor. Being able to preserve special memories is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. My goal is to give people something they can look back on and feel like they’re right in that moment again, whether it’s through an interview, a photoshoot, or a video recap. I feel grateful to use my creativity in a way that benefits my community and strengthens the connections within it.
