We recently connected with Amir McCall and have shared our conversation below.
Amir, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
I started making custom clothes in my room in 2019. I would use a vinyl machine to cut out my designs and use a heat press machine to press and lay everything together. I did that for about a year, selling all my inventory out the back of my car. I did fairly decent that year but going into the new year I knew I was capable of doing more and my creative mind expanded.
I decided to rebrand and take a more professional route to my brand and came up with the name of “Fam0usRage”. I started making clothes for the change and impact I could make on the world from my work and designs.
I had the idea of selling high quality clothes for a fair and honest price. Then the idea came to me why sell just clothes? When i can sell anything i put my mind too. With that new mindset “Fam0usRage” became a brand as a whole and not just a clothing line. With that I started making all types of designs for all types of products and that is how I came up with the idea of “Fam0usRage”.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Amir but I go by Famous. I am a designer/stylist and the owner of Fam0usRage. I am from Omaha Nebraska, and I moved to Atlanta when I was 5. I grew up on the Southside of Atlanta.
Before I was the owner of Fam0usRage, I taught myself to engineer and produce music. I also did photography before I took a break to fully focus on my brand. Prior to becoming a business owner, I was styling individuals and creating different pieces I felt was unique and different. I started by making T-shirts and hoodies and having friends and family model them.
I have since branched out and added multiple products such as clothing, accessories, handbags, and pet-friendly items. I ship all my products internationally with discounts included.
If a customer has an issue regarding an order, I try to respond with a solution within 12 hours. My brand sets me apart from others because I have reasonable prices, great quality pieces and free shipping for orders over $30 in the US. I use high quality products with matching prices.
I am most proud of staying consistent and following my dreams with no limits to the products I sell.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
I believe the art and different forms of advertising such as social media ads have played a major role in my exposure to my peers and future clients. With my ads I offer discounts and promos to entice new customers to try my items. I created posters for special events such as pop up shops, impromptu fashion shows and photo shoots throughout Atlanta.
Stickers with QR code were put on poles around city, they were put inside restaurants on tables that would allow me too. The use of brand ambassadors who wear my clothing around town and to events they attend. Lastly I gave local establishments my business cards with hopes they would allow their patrons to have one or at least see them and scan the QR code.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
My designs and being able to communicate with other designers and store owners in metro Atlanta has helped me tremendously. .Na’im Fared a designer with his own brand has given me guidance when needed. I also used suggestions from other amazing people I have met along the way to help guide me.
I decided to do my very first pop up shop which proved to be very successful. With that success I was able to give local business owners free merchandise and promo items to advertise my designs and brand.
