We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Amie Wiley. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Amie below.
Alright, Amie thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
Success, to me, is about perseverance—pushing forward despite negativity, judgment, and no letting your background dictate your future outcome. It’s about having an unwavering belief in yourself and your vision, even when the odds aren’t in your favour.
I come from very humble beginnings, growing up in County Clare, Ireland. I never saw my background as a limitation—I saw it as motivation. Hard work and drive have always been at the core of who I am. I grew up playing sport (GAA), at 16, I fell in love with the gym, and by 21, I had turned a college side project into Active with Amie—a self-funded wellness brand that now empowers women across the world, whilst simultaneously growing an online community to over 135,000 followers (currently).
Building AWA wasn’t easy, it was outside of the ‘norm’ and anything out of the normal is met with fierce judgement, I had to navigate this from 18 – a very young age. But I chose action over hesitation. I leaned into what made me different—a holistic approach to fitness that combined psychology, mindset, and sustainability. I didn’t chase trends or try to fit in; I focused on creating something meaningful, something that would truly change lives.
That perseverance paid off. Today, AWA is more than a business—it’s a movement. It’s sold-out wellness retreats, globally available products, and a thriving community built on empowerment and education. I’ve partnered with brands like Nike and Apple, features in Cosmopolitan and Glamour, and The Irish Independent Business. But beyond the accolades, it’s about impact—helping women transform their health, both physically and mentally.
My journey is proof that success isn’t about where you start; it’s about where you’re willing to go. It’s about trusting yourself, taking that first step, and never letting self-doubt win. If I had let my background or the opinions of others define me, I wouldn’t be here today. Instead, I turned every challenge into fuel, every setback into a lesson, and every small win into momentum.
No matter where you come from, you are capable of achieving something extraordinary. The key? Work relentlessly. Block out the noise. And never stop believing in yourself.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Amie is the founder of Active with Amie (AWA), a wellness brand dedicated to empowering women through a holistic approach to fitness and well-being. With a background in psychology, Amie has created a platform that focuses on fitness, nutrition, mindset, lifestyle, and sustainable wellness practices. Through AWA, she helps women overcome challenges and master their wellness journeys. Originally from County Clare in Ireland but now living in New York City, Amie continues to bring a unique perspective to the wellness industry. Amie is also a content creator sharing her life to an audience of over 130,000 people across all her social media platforms.
I’ve been passionate about sports and fitness for as long as I can remember. Growing up in Ireland, my main sport was Camogie, a traditional Gaelic game that’s a cornerstone of Irish culture. At 16, I joined the gym to enhance my performance on the pitch—and that decision sparked a lifelong love for fitness, health, and wellness. I became a sponge for knowledge, dedicating all my free time to learning and growing in this field.
With a degree in psychology, diplomas in personal training and sports nutrition, and a meditation teaching certification, I founded Active with Amie (AWA). AWA is a wellness brand that has helped hundreds of women transform their lives. By taking a holistic approach to fitness, I emphasize not just training and nutrition, but also mindset and lifestyle, empowering women to thrive on every level of their wellness journey.
AWA offers: 1-1 online coaching & wellness based products
I noticed a gap in the wellness space—so many brands focused solely on training or nutrition plans, but none took a truly holistic approach to coaching. I’ve always been drawn to mindfulness and how tuning into our inner worlds can transform our outer ones, and I wanted Active with Amie (AWA) to reflect that.
Rather than just handing out plans, my goal with AWA is to educate and empower women to overcome the challenges they face and master them for life. That means addressing mindset, training, nutrition, and lifestyle in a way that’s realistic and sustainable. No one is perfect, and I didn’t want to create a program that pressured women to be. Instead, AWA is designed to help clients grow and learn while still enjoying their lives, all in alignment with their fitness goals.
From gratitude journals to eBooks, my wellness products are an extension of this mission, embracing the same principles of balance, education, empowerment and slowing down to be mindful in the fast paced world we live in.
My sell-out gratitude journals have just launched and are now available worldwide on Amazon! Over the next year, my goal is to continue growing Active with Amie (AWA) and help as many women as possible on their wellness journeys. Looking ahead to 2025, I’m in the middle of building AWA’s very own fitness and wellness app!

Any advice for managing a team?
Be a human! I’m a big advocate on being a human first and a boss second. I look at my employees as an extension of my friend group. We all enjoy work so much more this way. We all work so well together. When hiring I look for people with the same values of me and as AWA (Active with Amie) and when I pick staff based on this (& of course based on qualifications) work is great!
I encourage my staff, support them and treat them as a friend (which they are to me!).
Friend first, boss second!

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I come from very humble beginnings, far from a business orientated background. Everything I have achieved has been self taught. Confidence and belief in yourself is huge. Where you come from doesnt dictate where you’re going. Hard work, drive and belief will see you achieve anything in life. AWA is proof of that
