We recently connected with Amelie Sigaudo and have shared our conversation below.

Amelie, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.

As a French girl moving to the States, i realized that the American Dream is real and that I wanted to be part of it … I have never been an entrepreneur so I did not really know how to start and what to offer. When the Covid hits I knew it was time for me to try it out !

I knew I wanted to bring a piece of the French Culture and especially the Chill and Beauty part. I like the word ‘Flanner’ which pretty much means enjoying yourself, wandering around with no rush, obligation or goal. Sounds petty like this but actually feels really good, just taking time for yourself.

I quickly realized that Americans were not really familiar with the concept of ‘Flanner’ and that they were always on the run, especially Women – business, work, family, house, friends and more. And here is a funny story, the first time I went back to France – ok for 2 months but after 1year and a half on the USA, everybody was looking at me and asking me WHY, HOW, WHAT FOR ? And that is when I realized I should bring my ‘CHILL EXPERTISE’ to American Women ;) I could not just invited them for a coffee or a glass of wine and hang out but have to highlight how important was to step back, to relax, to get some ME time.

So that was my point how to mix US and French culture while participating and supporting local businesses and especially Women entrepreneurship ?

That is how Olala Events was born.

Amelie, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I started meeting talented and amazing women, who because of the COVID situation changed their life radically by moving to our lovely Sarasota community and/or starting their own business. And here we were on the same page, newbies in the business, talented and motivated and not knowing how and where to start.

Don’t we refer to the laws of attraction in this case of situation? So here was the launching point of the first activity of Olala Events.

The creation of POP-UP MARKETS, by Women for Women.

Finding cool spots, gathering brilliant vendors, creating an atmosphere specific for us and making it fun with music, light bites and mimosas – because life is always brighter with Mimosa ;) was my new mission. It has not been as easy as it sounds. We made some mistakes, picked up some wrong location, lost faith, been discouraged but always pushed forward by our amazing community of vendors. Focusing on women needs and businesses, discovering how the Women entrepreneur community of Sarasota was amazing and supportive, all of this been such a blessing.

I always liked to think that Olala was more than a place to sell but also an environment to network, make new friends, connect, grow, share, learn, nurture and support.

The adventure was launched ! And 2024 is the beginning of a new activity under Olala.. The Beauty and Chill party !

– Sound bath. Dive in with Jackies in 30 min of pure peace and bliss. Jackie will play instruments to bring deep relaxation of your mind and body. Treat yourself to a relaxing experience that will leave you feeling relaxed and refreshed.
– Feet Refloxology and Aroma Therapy. Siloh will guide you on the effects of feet reflexology and aromatherapy bringing you peace of mind and relax.

During the event you will have access to a shopping corner, heated pool and buffets with drinks. In addition, you will receive a goodies bag with trendy and elegant gifts.
