Amelia, appreciate you joining us today. Earning a full time living from one’s creative career can be incredibly difficult. Have you been able to do so and if so, can you share some of the key parts of your journey and any important advice or lessons that might help creatives who haven’t been able to yet?

As a wedding makeup artist, I’ve been fortunate to establish a full-time career in the creative industry. However, like many, my journey wasn’t an instant success from day one. It required dedication, perseverance, and strategic steps to achieve a sustainable income.

Initially, starting out involved building a portfolio. I offered my services to friends, family, and acquaintances to gain experience and create a diverse collection of work. This allowed me to showcase my skills and develop a style that resonated with clients.

One of the key milestones in my journey was networking and marketing myself effectively. Collaborating with photographers or wedding planners, and leveraging social media platforms significantly contributed to expanding my reach and attracting potential clients. Building a strong online presence through a professional website and social media profiles helped showcase my work to a broader audience.

Reflecting on my journey, I believe speeding up the process might have been to share my expertise through content creation. I never considered starting a blog or creating tutorials on social media platforms. I still am considering a blog and posting makeup tutorials but if I am being honest it does take up quite a bit of time to do these things.

I entered this industry after completing formal training in makeup artistry and obtaining certifications in various techniques and styles. What truly drives me is the joy of making brides feel confident and radiant on their special day.

Whether it’s creating timeless and elegant looks or more bold and trendsetting styles, my goal is to understand each client’s preferences and deliver a customized experience that exceeds their expectations.

Additionally, the personal connections formed with clients and being a part of their special moments make this profession exceptionally rewarding.

My primary goal is to expand my wedding makeup artistry team across various regions of the United States, aiming to provide exceptional services to a broader clientele.
