We recently connected with Amelia Cantu and have shared our conversation below.
Amelia, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today. Parents play a huge role in our development as youngsters and sometimes that impact follows us into adulthood and into our lives and careers. Looking back, what’s something you think you parents did right?
So many of go through different experiences in life. I am blessed to say that through my own trial-and-errors, my parents have shown me love, mercy and grace. This has helped me in my personal life, as a parent and now as having a prayer ministry called My Eternal Life In Christ the acronym for that is my nickname MELI.C.
Through the love my parents have so graciously poured out to me all my life they have been showing the love of Jesus Christ Our families foundation. Which is what I now also hope to share with others through this ministry forgiveness, compassion, encouragement and my faith in Jesus.
Sharing my past experiences so other women can see it’s ok if life has knocked you down a few times, if you’ve been hurt, rejected & at times forgotten by others. God can transform any situation, heal you & give you joy unspeakable I am very grateful for my Papi & Mami.

Amelia, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I just wrote my first 30 day women’s devotional. In it I share a scripture and an experience I went through and a prayer. I did this in hopes to reach the community to show that we can connect, understand eachother and help eachother become greater versions of ourselves and accomplish all we set out to do. For example in Day four I talk about the prodigal son scripture found in Luke 15-11:32 the parable of the lost son.
When I was fifteen years old I ran away from home for two days.
I’ll never forget I was terrified thinking about facing the consequences of my actions. I thought I would be in trouble forever but, the day I came home,
My dad, mom and siblings were all standing outside waiting for me as I walked up my dad embraced me and kissed me on my forehead that mercy given to me that day was so peaceful.
I was forgiven, accepted and still loved.
I love to share these stories because having a Bilingual prayer ministry I can reach many people and offer salvation through Jesus talk about the forgiveness he has made available for us to receive and his great, mercy, grace and incomparable love he has for eachone of us. I am getting ready to launch off my book in a few weeks I am excited to share my stories with the world all for Gods glory. If he can take a woman like me who has been, hurt, rejected, broken, lost and hopeless at one point and turn my life around to only see, feel and live with hope than he can do that for you too! The truth will set you free just like it has for me
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
The lessons you learn through life often times want you to learn to live defeated. Like there is no way you will ever accomplish your dreams or find your purpose in life. Those cycles surley come often and quickly so much so that you learn to live like you’ll always be in the same place and never meet any goals you have. You have a choice everyday either belive the negativity or stand up to the truth that can set you free from those past experiences that are holding you back and rising up to be who you’re called to be. Being in fellowship with other believers, going to faith filled gatherings will lift you up and give you the encouragement you need. To learn to see yourself as God sees you worthy, valuable, beautiful, redeemed, forgiven and precious in his sight.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
My Resilience has come from my faith, being able to bounce back from different situations knowing I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, is what makes me Resilient. When you know who has been with you all along you can stand up tall and face anything knowing. God will never leave you nor forsake you. He is so faithful and will bring forth the promises he has for your life, take you along the right path and you’ll reach your destiny as you walk in your purpose. We are designed to be overcomers more than conquerors and victorious
