We recently connected with Ameenha Lee and have shared our conversation below.
Ameenha , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
For me, what I think it takes to be successful is to do what you love. Sometimes you have to turn down opportunities that are solely for funny, and follow your gut. Success isn’t just about having a loaded bank account. In my opinion, success means that you’re fulfilled in life mentally, your vision board has come into fruition, and having a peaceful life. Of course success requires hard work, but you have to remember your mission in life. There’s going to be various mountains you have to climb to get that one opportunity you year for.
Ameenha , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I started building my audience on social media during the pandemic, initially posting on TikTok just for fun. At first, I created funny duet reaction videos, and people loved my facial expressions and natural reactions. As my content gained traction, I experimented with different topics, including gossip, but quickly realized that keeping up with celebrity drama wasn’t for me.
Instead, I pivoted to creating content in what I call my legendary niche, which includes fashion, today’s news, celebrity interviews, food, music, and sports. I want my followers to know that they don’t have to box themselves into one niche—they can be legendary in their own right and explore multiple passions.
For anyone just starting to build their social media presence, my biggest advice is to stay authentic and experiment with content that genuinely excites you. People connect with passion and authenticity, so focus on what makes you unique. Also, consistency is key—keep showing up, engaging with your audience, and evolving based on what resonates with them.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
One lesson I had to unlearn was expecting support from people I knew on social media. I learned this the hard way. In today’s world, people often measure value by follower counts, and it’s common to see them engaging with celebrities while overlooking the people they actually know—even those they watched grow up.
At first, it was disappointing to realize that support wouldn’t always come from familiar faces. I noticed that some people only engage when you’ve “made it” or are associated with a celebrity. But over time, I learned to shift my focus. Genuine support often comes from unexpected places—especially from strangers who truly resonate with your content. That doesn’t mean loved ones don’t care, but you can’t hold people to expectations they may not even be capable of meeting. Instead of dwelling on who isn’t supporting you, I learned to appreciate and nurture the audience that does.
