We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ambrielle Coleman. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ambrielle below.
Ambrielle, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s the kindest thing anyone has ever done for you?
Let me start by saying I have the BEST parents in the world! My parents, Robert and Wanda Coleman, always encouraged me to be my authentic self and follow my dreams. They poured into my talents and supported every one of my interests, including the ones I wasn’t great at. They always listened to my ideas and were very intentional whenever I needed their advice. At the end of last year, two of my biggest goals were to start my own business and brand my podcast. I’d been podcasting for two years, and I was ready to monetize my platform. My parents believed in me so much, that they gifted me with my LLC! Bag Talk Enterprises, LLC., is a professional development and consulting service assisting clients with shaping their passions and obtaining a career in their field. My parents also trademarked my podcast, Gettin’ 2 The Bag Podcast, a lifestyle and professional development podcast highlighting the journeys of young Black entrepreneurs and creatives providing a safe place for them to share their stories and inspire the next generation of young hustlers! Knowing someone believes in you is such a rare, and pure feeling. It meant the world to me, and I’ll never forget that.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Ambrielle Coleman and I am a Founder, Podcast Host, and CEO. I am 28-years-old from Cleveland, Ohio, a graduate of Ohio University, and a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. I’m a dog mom to a 3-year-old French Bulldog, Ivy Rue, a daughter, and a big sister. I’m also a “corporate girlie” starting my career in corporate America back in 2019. I’ve worked as a corporate recruiter for Fortune 500 Companies including Wayfair and Google. I also gained experience working in Human Resources, and I often use my experiences in the corporate world to fuel my passion for professional development.
I don’t see many young, Black women working in corporate America, so I cherish whenever I meet new faces. Working as a young Black woman in corporate isn’t easy. We are often overworked, misunderstood, and overlooked whenever we try to express ourselves. I feel the difference when I walk into a room, and it used to intimidate me… A LOT. The more experience I gained, the more I embraced my presence in the corporate world. I want to be an inspiration to women who look like me. I want them to be confident in themselves, and take pride in their work, even when they aren’t recognized publicly. I also want people to find joy in their passions outside of work. It’s so easy to lose sight of your personal goals while working, and we should also have a life outside of the office. If your passions lie in the workplace, that’s ok. If your passions lie in entrepreneurship, that’s ok too! It may lie in both! My podcast, Gettin’ 2 The Bag, is a lifestyle and professional development podcast for millennial entrepreneurs and creatives. Some work full-time in corporate while running a business. Other guests work for themselves as full-time business owners. Regardless of the hustle, my platform is meant to inspire viewers to pour into their passions.
In April 2024 I launched my business, Bag Talk Enterprises! My business was birthed out of my experiences in the corporate world. We provide consulting services for Styling, Podcasting, Workplace Wellness, Resume Revamps, and more! If you’re looking to develop your professional skills, head over to my website www. bagtalkenterprises.com, and book your consultation today!

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
My followers love my personality and authenticity. I’m very transparent on social media, and I embrace all of my triumphs and struggles. I’m gentle, yet firm, so whenever I give advice people often listen because they respect me and my delivery. I also love my platform and experienced a lot of success because of it. Success is attractive to people. Success needs confidence, and I had to develop my confidence along the way. With confidence – comes consistency. The more confident you are in your work, the more likely you are to share it with the world! I value quality and growth, and both are reflected in my work. My followers trust me, and I’m grateful to have their trust. In business, trust is the #1 way anyone builds a following. The more trust you have, the more valuable your brand becomes. I am the face of my brand, and I want to continue growing with my followers.

How did you build your audience on social media?
I built my audience mainly by networking. Many of my early podcast guests were friends of mine from college. My friends told their friends, and before you know it – I’m meeting new people! I’ve been fortunate to make most of my connections solely by initiating conversations. Don’t be afraid to make the first move. You never know how far a simple conversation will take you!
I encourage people to put themselves out there. Initiate conversations. Send the email. Send the DM. You don’t always have to wait for someone to come with you. Go to places by yourself! It’s uncomfortable, but this is how you grow. Networking is so important and necessary for any young professional. Something I would like to try differently is joining professional groups in the city. Columbus has many young professional groups and I see them host events all the time. My goal is to make it to at least one event this season. My best advice is “Always be ready for something new!” Opportunities are out there, but they won’t always come to you. Work on your confidence, and seize every opportunity you have!
