We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ambra Pulliam . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ambra below.
Alright, Ambra thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
Oprah Winfrey once said success is loving who you are and what you do? I believe success is canceling out the noise of others doubt and projected insecurities. Not trusting yourself and realizing seeking the validation of others can hinder your progress.
There are people who will watch you grow but won’t be inspired to grow with you. You will have to be okay losing people; family and friends. There will be some days that orders will pour in and sometimes weeks where you won’t get a single request. Prepare while you wait, research while you wait. If you truly want success never give up.
Ambra , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Being diagnosed with depression at the age of 11 and overcoming at the age of 27,I embarked on a mental health self-love journey. I have always had a deep passion to help people and I realize there are so many others who feel like their voices aren’t being heard. As a single parent of a 9 and 3 year old, I have watched single mothers struggle with the work-mom-life balance and I was driven to provide a program that aided moms on their journey. I began to do research and came across a variety of success tools and daily exercises that I implemented into a lifestyle.
I wrote for hours about different strategies and healthy coping mechanisms and started documenting the steps I took to on my self-love journey. In the beginning I could not afford to hire a website developer so I taught myself and designed my own. I developed a few other small business websites as well to supplement income. I constructed my Heal Your Mental program and started vigorously advertising and networking; on and off social media. I began gaining so much awareness and publicity in my hometown. This allowed me to sponsor mental health workshops with local business owners and become the top sponsor in the Gemini Black Business Expo in Beloit, WI. The expsoure lead me to be interviewed on Soul Discussions Radio and Sipping and Spilling the Tea with Riviera podcast. I volunteered an entire summer with Merrill Community Center in Beloit bringing in Empowerment Activities Program to their youth department. I was invited to speak at various schools and events as well.
I am living a dream that I thought didn’t exist for a single mother who had all odds against her. I show up for women who are having a hard time showing up for themselves. I am changing lives and inspiring thousands across multiple social media platforms. I teach others how to start and scale their business using marketing strategies, algorithms and Google analytics. I thoroughly prepare and pour my heart into every program.
Progressive Minds LLC’s mission is to empower the vision. As an advocate for women’s mental health, I focus on encouraging my clients to become stronger and more confident.
Every program I design is forward thinking; removing limitating beliefs towards success, mental health and finances. My motto is “It is not the obstacle that causes the suffering but how we react.”- Sadguru
When you believe in yourself, you are more powerful than your circumstances. Knowledge corroborated with wisdom and intentional actions are a recipe for success. Success is loving who you are and what you do. When we control our perceptions, we control our future.
I am currently working on a mental health interactive work book that will work as reference on your healing journey! I have affirmation journals available on my website as well, coachambra.com.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn having an employee mindset. Over the course of the last 15 years I was conditioned that you trade time for money. We are all parts of a whole, however leadership and mindfulness had to be practiced in order to sustain profits.
As an employee, enforcing boundaries can be difficult because we want to please our superiors. As a business owner I realized enforcing healthy boundaries helped me to better serve my clients. I had to learn how to maintain discipline whether or not I felt like working. I learned that entrepreneurship requires self-education and investing time even when I didn’t have a profitable outcome.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I pour my all into everything I do. Every service I offer requires client(s) and I to enter into a written agreement that ensures their confidentiality, the details of services, and payments prior to provided services. I cater to the mental health of single mothers, so I am flexible with scheduling. I want to my clients to know taking care of their mental health is a priority and someone cares!
