We recently connected with ¥en Tran and have shared our conversation below.
Hi ¥en, thanks for joining us today. One of our favorite things to brainstorm about with friends who’ve built something entrepreneurial is what they would do differently if they were to start over today. Surely, there are things you’ve learned that would allow you to do it over faster, more efficiently. We’d love to hear how you would go about setting things up if you were starting over today, knowing everything that you already know
If I were to start all over again – I would definitely imply the importance of time management & credit establishment early on from the jump. I would carefully analyze all of my moves before partaking steps into it, knowing that every cause comes with an effect even if it’s not visible here today. Keeping track of data and writing down everything when it comes to the business while keeping the overhead cost as low as possible & maximizing profit revenue gradually within time is key.
¥en, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I came to the United States at 8 years old from Vietnam being exposed to two different dynamic lifestyles and different opportunities compared to what wasn’t even around where I came from. For that, I will always be thankful of the experience and process which shaped the character of whom I am now. It is all still a process of growth and I’ve learned to accept the constant changes that comes with elevation and adaption.
Being the entrepreneur I am today, there has been so many risks, sacrifices, and failures that I’ve experienced along the way that nobody would ever have a clue. But of course, all of that comes with the rewards and gratitude which is why I continue to keep going.
I love using my creativity and innovation to help others with the areas that they may not be as strong in. I also throughly enjoy inspiring them to do more or better not only for theirselves but also for those around that they love & cherish. ‘Luxury Zone’ is a brand I’ve created that offers services and products in the art of receiving gifts which is also in correspondence of other forms of love language.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I am also a Realtor® and it actually took the 7th time in order for me to pass my Real Estate Exam. This process was very challenging for me because of the language barrier, some things I still have to think throughly and translate in my head so speed was exactly what I needed in order to submit my answers before the timer runs out.
The resilience was there from the jump when I knew I came way too far to not finish the game despite how many times I had failed that specific portion of the exam. I learned chess heavy during this time and implemented the concept of speed and direction, realizing that some times, without speed, it means nothing with skills because opportunities do expire hence time is never on our side.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
I love studying people but my favorite ones to study and learn from are the greats, especially those that remains a student of the game and continuously absorb from the GREATS… I love learning about self mastery, body language, psychology, and human nature…etc. & I do plan to take a new focus shift soon and learn more about real estate, investing, fiance, marketing and entrepreneurship.
Examples: Reece Wabara, Robert Greene, Curtis Jackson, Robert Kiyosaki, to only name a few.
