We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Amber Vargas a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Amber thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?

Taking a risk at trying my hand at entrepreneurship hasn’t been an easy feat. From creating an apparel brand that was rooted in Embracing the Fire Inside Every Girl inspired by my daughter, to pivoting the business because I was told by a corporation to close up shop. I didn’t allow them to defeat me. With the same brand motto “Embrace the Fire Inside Every Girl” I built Girl Pursuit.

All this to say, that I am betting on myself. I know my true potential and the impact I can make in my community and in this world. Creative mind that is craving a piece of this world for myself and the likeminded ones.

Where every Roundtable discussion topic is typically taboo to speak about out loud. Tell me where you see this as a norm?
At Girl Pursuit, we get serious about getting comfortable with the uncomfortable and challenge you to have more thought-provoking conversations. Because you see, in life we get carried away with the day-to-day and rarely get a moment to talk about the why. To look inward and figure out how you show up as a person, what you can do better or just enjoy a deep conversation with someone you don’t even know. Promoting the individual mindset along with cultivating a community where we feel seen and less alone.

Have you ever had to pivot?

The time where a big corporation didn’t like that I was ranking on Google alongside their product. I had gotten my trademark approved and how dare I do things the “proper” way (in my eyes- the accountant in me).

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

Telling it like it is. I have always shared and told this to friends and other small business owners. The hardest part is just starting. There has to be a level of vulnerability, I think we as humans crave the connection. Slow growth is what is happening with Girl Pursuit and that’s the way it is. Consistency is key.
