We were lucky to catch up with Amber Pitt recently and have shared our conversation below.
Amber, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
As far as a defining moment for me would have been in the spring of 2018. I had happened on a chance to be a reader at the Southern Illinois Spirituality and Psychic Fest in Marion, IL. This would be my third event and my first on a larger stage. I was feeling a bit nervous. I got myself set up and I sat down at my table when the event started. An hour or so into the event, I looked up and had a line of people waiting to see me. This was the point I was really blown away. This was the first time I thought “Maybe I can do this for work.”

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am an eclectic witch who has been practicing more than 20 years. I had always known things before they happened. I would hear the phone ring before it did, I knew about events or things that would happen days or years before they did. I could occasionally hear what people were thinking. In about the year 2000, I was on a work trip and found a shop near my hotel that had a beginner tarot class that night. I had always been intrigued, so I went. And it felt so incredibly natural when I looked at the cards. After many years of just reading privately, I started doing public readings and working out of Wildhair Studios’ Rock Shop in Paducah, KY. A few years after that, I felt the same draw to tea leaf reading and started learning that as well. Based on these skills, I have created a unique divination experience for my clients.
When a client joins me at my table, they first choose their tea cup, and then their tea. I will make the tea for them and while they drink it, I perform a short tarot reading. Once the tea is drunk, we flip the cup and read what remains inside! The client gets to keep their cup.
My readings tend to focus on the client exclusively. What areas they are blocked in, what areas they need to focus on to grow and flourish. Where to really spend their energy to elevate them into that next level in life.
What I am most proud of is how many repeat clients I have now. I am recognized in the regions I work in randomly. I have people bring their friends up to my booth telling them about how good their reading was a year or two ago and encouraging all their friends to sign up. I bring people joy, peace, hope, or sometimes just some direction. The fact that they continue to come back to me session after session allows me to build relationships with them year after year.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
When I was initially getting comfortable reading cards, I decided I would try to apply at a new shop that had recently opened, this was around 2006 or so. When I showed up for the vetting, as I walked in I felt myself blocked. I pushed past it and went through with the reading for the shop owner. I did not do well at all. She was kind and gave me some coaching on how to improve. The lesson I did not fully understand from that experience until much later is there are places you do not belong. No matter how much you want to be there.
Since that experience, if it is not easy to get into a place or event, I simply leave it because it is not ment for me.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I am me. I am blunt and honest with my clients. When I was at the Southern Illinois Spirituality and Psychic fest the first time, I had alot of people tell me the reason they chose me was because I was sitting out in the open and the readings were direct and to the point. I refuse to take advantage of anyone. I will stop a reading if a connection is not there. I won’t read anyone without their consent. I’m honest with my clients when they ask how often they should get readings done. And I believe these are the things that have helped me maintain my clients and for them to bring their friends.
