We were lucky to catch up with Amber Natasha Krisher recently and have shared our conversation below.
Amber, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think it takes to be successful?
I have thought a lot about what it takes to be successful. I have listened to so many interviews, podcasts, read books and taken classes to try and determine what the secret ingredient is that differentiates a select few entrepreneurs over the rest. From all my experience and research, I think it really comes down to honest hard work and a true sense of self. Unless you are an entrepreneur, I don’t think that it is understood the time, blood, sweat, and tears that it takes to succeed. Each day is a roller coaster of emotions, problems, difficulties, and strife that have to be consistently overcome and pushed through. The discipline required to continue involves changing the mindset surrounding your entire life. It involves a required set of habits, actions, and organization to keep you and your company at the level it needs to be. You are the sole person responsible for your future. You must be willing to do whatever needs to be done in order to fulfill that obligation. Mentally, to attain a true sense of self, you cannot live through the lens of your ego or insecurity, as those will surely hinder your overall goals. You have to have the courage to be humble, willing to learn and adjust, and to accept whatever comes your way. Ego and insecurity act as blinders from seeing the true solution to problems and it takes mental maturity and self-awareness to consistently guard against those natures. By doing this, you will be able to surround yourself with people who are smarter and better than you and you can leverage those people to fuel your success. Without it, you are limited to the comfort of what doesn’t trigger your internal psyche.
Life offers us so many avenues to be successful. Whatever definition that word gives for you, the same core values still apply. These traits of hard work and sense of self will allow you to accomplish things in this world that you never thought possible.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I have been fortunate in my career to do a lot of amazing things. I am a Banking Executive for a small community bank and co-own and operate a company that provides Emergency Apparatus (Fire Engines) sales and service to municipalities throughout the State of Texas. I also own Bella Capital, LLC which is a consulting company where I provide Operational, Financial, and Strategic Planning services and I am an agency model for Alice Laura Models.
I believe that we have been blessed to be given each day and I strive to harness as much of life as I can. I want to live a fulfilled existence and do my part each day to bring a positive impact to the world.
My biggest strength is my sheer stubbornness. I run head first into challenges and refuse to waiver until I attain the desired result. I am annoyingly optimistic and I look for opportunities and joy in every part of my life.
My life is dedicated to creating positive change and serving others. I may not always have a clear direction on how to accomplish this, but I continue to work toward this goal by following a simple statement; Always make the next right decision, no matter how difficult it may be, and never give up.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing your clientele is transparency and communication. Modern business owners do not want to be oversold on a product or service, only to fail to deliver. True honesty and transparent communication allow you to engage with others in a way that develops strong and stable relationships. Throughout your business career, you will face more challenges and roadblocks than you can count, however by having the ability to be honest and communicate effectively, those challenges and roadblocks can pivot into opportunities to learn and grow. By operating under these values, you also develop a respect and understanding from your clientele that will solidify and nurture those longer term relationships.
Any advice for managing a team?
My advice for managing a team is similar to my advice on being successful. Your company is only as strong as those who work within it, therefore by creating a culture of honesty and hard work you rise from simply managing to true leadership. Your team will work harder for and with you when you cultivate a workplace that is built on mutual trust and respect. Your team has to have an unwavering trust in you and the mission of the company. As the leader, it is your job to ensure that your team has the support and resources they need to be effective. Your job is not to tell people what to do, it is to hire those who are experts in their field and support them.
I always illustrate my role within a company as a conductor of an orchestra. I do not play any instrument, it would be naïve of me to assume I could tell any member of the orchestra how to play their respective instrument. My job is to simply stand back and ensure the output of the entire orchestra achieves the desired sound and harmony.
