We were lucky to catch up with Amari Worthy recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Amari, thanks for joining us today. Looking back, what’s an important lesson you learned at a prior job
One of the first jobs I had was at Ritters Frozen Custard. One of the Vaules that stuck with me from this job. was the customer Service we had to give. Everything was about making the customer smile and enjoying their visit with us. I learned that great customer interactions and relationships are the key to business. Not only will those customer become returning customers they will refer frIends and family. who will now do the same. When helping clients make their vision come to life and enjoy their night I make sure to go above and beyond. Custom cups and napkins, personalize drink straws and more. As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am the founder and owner of Luxury Sips Mobile Bartending. We bring the Luxury to any event. I always loved a good mixed drink and I always love mixing and seeing what I can create. I started to see a lot more people on social media making it a business. I started to do my research about the industry and found we did not have any business offering these services in my area. I started to find the licenses needed to start. I officially started my business In July 2019. We offer Luxury Package for every occasion. To Pretty Mocktail for our non-alcoholic, Mimosa Bar for bridal showers and more and Smoketables. We all know party planning is stressful. Here at Luxury Sips we help cut cost and stay on budget, Increased Safety, reduce Liability and allow the host and guests to enjoy inventive cocktails that are unique to their own personality or theme. and Much More. All of these help us stand out from other business creating that luxury experience for or clients and guests for a night to remember. I am most proud of me sticking to it. I am a mother of one. Im a full time employee and also a daughter, sister and friend that still want to enjoy time with love ones. At times it gets really hard to balance it all. But I Enjoy every moment of being an entrepreneur and the person it has help me to be.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Social Media has been my go to place when growing my clientele. Content has been so helpful, Being able to have Videos, Pictures and reviews from past client. It helps for future client to Visualize the Luxury experience we help bring to their event. sharing the ups and downs and my insight in building my company also helps for the future customers to see what all that goes into running a mobile Bartending business. Word of mouth is also one of the best way my business grows. I make sure Each client is getting the best service so they can pass along my info
Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
Funding a business can be very hard, especially as a small bussiness. trying to get a loan from a bank just seems impossible at times. My funding go to has been bootstrapping. With my regular job we are able to pick up overtime almost all the time. Which is great for me. This gives me control to pick up when and how to get the funds in a timely manner. One of my other funding options have been grants from my community. while grants are money you don’t have to pay back it usually on a lottery pick. I also have Pitch for my business. Pitching can be very rewarding once you finally jump in. At first it can seem overwhelming but it is definitely worth it.
