We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Amari Ms.Diva Browne. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Amari Ms.Diva below.
Hi Amari Ms.Diva, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I’ve known since a child that I loved performing! I can say elementary school plays started that for me, whenever I got on the stage it was a feeling of it didn’t matter what was happening in the audience I was on stage and I wanted to always give a good show! Growing up I realized early on that I was funny and the things I would say would make the adults laugh then when I was school I could make my friends laugh it made me happy to make others happy. I knew from then I could do this for the rest of my life. Nothing brings me more joy than entertainment.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I started acting as a child small roles in school and community plays. As I grew older I became interested in media I started a blog covering entertainment news called Ms.Diva newz report that later become my radio show called The Diva Report at my college station OWWR which will be turning 10 in 2024.
The Diva Report is an entertainment awareness show I aim to discuss the latest news as well as inform people on issues they not have been privy to before listening to me. I want people to be their authentic selves while supporting others to do the same. It’s easy to be a follower it takes a lot to stand out on your own. We all have a purpose and I hope I can spark the mind of my and the future generations to follow their dreams.
I’m most proud of myself not giving up I recently was going to retire working in media and focus on just my acting career I had to realize that I can do both and I simply have to put in the work! Only thing stopping me is me and I refuse to let myself down.
I’m going to be starting new projects with other creatives as well as on working on The Diva Report and my acting career. You can follow me on Facebook instagram and TikTok @thedivareport to keep up with me! Thank you to those who have supported me for the past 10 years it won’t be in vain.
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
Working for what may look like no money and what may look like no results, I think those that aren’t creatives don’t understand having a passion that you didn’t ask for that won’t go away. It’s a positive urge to do your craft and it’s a feeling that no matter how hard you try won’t go way. As a creative your network is your net worth sometimes you may have to take a job for little to no pay or go to 100 events before connecting with the right people the point is everyone is aware of who you are and what you do how bad do you really want it is what they’re looking for. If you didn’t receive help would you give up or keep trying ?
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
Liking and sharing a post is free and truly helps a lot. I can see when people look and don’t like it really hurts who your post can reach. I just want people to support the come up as much as they support the end goal. They cheer when you made it when you really need those cheers on the climb up. All in all any support is appreciated even if it is just a view. It means so much to get feedback from people it’s like a virtual hug even when they don’t agree with you. The Diva Report loves diff view points.
