We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Amanda Williams a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Amanda, thanks for joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
This Idea for my business KeepMoneyNow came about from my desire to want more young adults to learn about investing and in realizing that there were no financial relief programs available in my area for college students. Also in realizing that more than one area of our financial lives had to be dealt with.
I created this business that educates young adults about finance, equips them with simple concepts and basic financial knowledge, and that provides financial support- all tools to help young adults succeed financially.
Having someone help me financially while in college and having proper financial knowledge, could have made a huge difference in my life as a college student. So, I chose to provide my community with the things I did not have and the things I know are needed.
Amanda, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am an Author and the founder of “KeepMoneyNow”and my website is KeepMoneyNow.Org where I also share my financial blogs. The KeepMoneyNow concept is to help others keep money in their pockets and in their bank accounts at all times regardless of how much they make and to take complex financial information and teach them to others in “basic terms” so that they can be equipped with the knowledge needed to be financially successful.
We help those in our community take their finances to the next level by providing as many financial tools and resources as possible to help them be financially successful and we also give back to those in our community.
I always had a heart to help those in need, when I went to college for my bachelor’s degree in business management with an emphasis in Finance, I wanted to use my degree to help my community financially. This led to me coming up with business ideas and eventually writing my first book called “The Money Keeper”(A basic guide for financial success and money management practices).
After college I learned that there were so many different areas that I needed help in financially and I thought of a way to combat every financial issue that many people face on a regular basics, my book “The Money Keeper” teaches others how to keep money in their pockets and in their bank accounts at all times regardless of how much they make; and how to deal with many financial issues that we tend to encounter on a regular basis and helping others to overcome those issue and become financially stabled.
While I decided to use KeepMoneyNow as a resource to provide financial support for college students in my community. I also aim to help families and individuals needing financial support and education as well.
I was introduced to stock market investing while in college and wanted other young adults to know more about investing; this led to my idea of taking complex information and teaching them to others in basic terms, helping more people understand finance and become financially successful.
Through KeepMoneyNow I am able to educate people about finance and help them take action in reaching their financial goals. I am a giver at heart and what better gift to give than the gift of financial education. While I also use this platform to give back to my community, the goal isn’t just to give a man a fish, but to also teach a man how to fish so that they can always eat.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
One way I keep in touch with my clients is through asking them to subscribe to the free subscription on my website. This allows me to keep my customers informed on all the new products, tools, and resources that KeepMoneyNow has to offer. I also blog on my website so my customers always get email notification on the latest blog topics and are sometimes the first to gain access to new resources before it hits the public.
I foster brand loyalty by not only giving back to those in my community but also celebrating my subscribers through subscriber giveaways during the holidays and offering temporary subscriber only discounts for new products, as well as thank you gift to subscribers.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
When writing and publishing my book “The Money Keeper” there were many obstacles, but I did not give up on sharing my vision with the world. When publishing my book, I had to stop sales and marketing for an entire month after just announcing that the book was available for pre-sales.
I had an issue with my top distributer that took weeks to resolve while also working on getting my book details together with my second distributer, the process was long, and the days felt stressful in trying to get my book published and release.
I had back to back obstacles but I did not allow any of it to stop me from doing all that I could to get my book out. The month was long and stressful but I kept going and eventually things turned around in my favor and now my book is out and educating people all across the country.
