Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Amanda Sinnott. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Amanda, thanks for joining us today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
One of the biggest risks I’ve ever taken was leaving the 9-5 world to start my own tutoring business! After a season of loss and the chaos of Covid, I had to take a step back and really ask myself what I wanted to do with my life. My favorite part of every job I’d ever had was connecting with kids and families and helping them find their spark again. I wanted to help students love school again and actually enjoy learning.
Starting my business was terrifying and exciting all at once, but it’s been the most rewarding decision I’ve ever made. Watching students thrive and families feel supported reminds me every day why taking that risk was worth it!

Amanda, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Through my business, Hello Edu Tutoring, I create a personalized system that works for the family. I help parents who are super busy, juggling a million things, and don’t have time to constantly check in on every assignment or project. My job is to make sure their kids are staying on track while feeling supported and confident.
I become that trusted adult who keeps students accountable, helps them build good habits, and makes learning something they enjoy instead of something stressful.
With Hello Edu Tutoring I want parents to feel like they have a partner in their child’s education, and I want students to discover their passions, grow, and actually love learning again!

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
If you scroll through my Instagram (@helloedu), you’ll see that I started out using a lot of Canva templates, posting static posts, flyers, and things like that. It was aesthetic, but honestly, it wasn’t really showing who I am. Lately, I’ve just been having fun with my social media, posting reels, behind the scenes stuff, and the growth has been way better!
I think the biggest advice I can give to anyone starting out is to just be yourself. Show your personality. When you’re just having fun you start attracting people who genuinely get what you’re about!

We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
Yes! My side hustle became my full-time business and career over time. I started tutoring on the side while working full-time and always loved it. Tutoring has always been something I genuinely enjoyed and cared about.
