We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Amanda Sakach a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Amanda, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?

The legacy I want to leave behind is one transparency and accountability! I want people to think after I am gone; Amanda always kept it real and did so with kindness and integrity. She always told you what you needed to do to be successful- whether that is for an aesthetic provider in the industry or a client wanting to achieve their skin health goals. I want my legacy to be known for how hard I worked on my education to give to others to lift them up and empower them to be as successful as possible in achieving their goals, while keeping it real with them. People will say – she always owned her shit! She took accountability for her mistakes and learned from them and that’s how she grew as human being and a professional and that is what she helped others do as well!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I struggled with acne and problematic skin growing up and it has always been my Life’s Mission to help other love what they see when they look in the mirror! I truly believe when we love what is looking back at us we are better. We are better mothers, wives, friends, professionals, people in the community! Loving yourself changes the way you see the world and I am here for that. I have spent my entire adult life in the aesthetics industry. At Purity Skin Studio we focus on the health and integrity of the skin. We do not believe in conforming to societal standards of beauty and don’t believe in selling your products or services you don’t want or need. We are here to help and educate our clients to love their face. We use clean ingredients and innovative technology to ensure the safest and most effective approach to skin health. Not everyone values our services and products and we are completely ok with that. If we can create a space and community for people to come and get educated and feel empowered on how best to care for their skin then we have done our job. What truly sets us apart is our approach to skin health. We focus on the health and integrity of the skin. Not what people think you should look like. Our clients walk out feeling valued, heard, appreciated, understood and educated. I am most proud of the amazing team I have built. In 7 years of owning Purity Skin Studio we have had our highs and lows in building a team and right now my team has the kindest heart, the most experience, top notch education. They are all incredibly talented, smart, caring and ALWAYS put the clients experience first and foremost. We approach everything as a collaborative team and our clients feel the difference when they come to Purity Skin Studio

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

I had to unlearn hustle culture. I am a firm believer in hustling my butt off but what I realized as a business owner was that just because I believed that was the best way to grow a business didn’t mean my team wanted to be managed that way. I had to learn that I wanted to be a true leader and not a manager. I had to learn how to communicate with different personality types to get the same result. And what hustle means to some means totally different to others and in order to get everyone on the same page I had to do some deep soul searching on what type of leader I wanted to be to empower the team I was building!

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

The best marketing strategy for me was when I very first started and went grass roots with it. I attended as many free and low fee networking meetings I could! I had to establish myself as a brand and business and get in front of as many people as possible to get their attention. I grew my small aesthetics practice with no money and no clientele in a new city to seeing over 150 clients a month in less than a year with $0 spent on digital advertising.
