We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Amanda Pluck. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Amanda below.
Amanda , appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
The Make it Take it feature at the Philly home and garden show! I started as a creative leader and now I coordinator the feature with the show Manager. We teach all weekend long creative projects that can be put to practical use in your home and life!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a local pyrography (woodburning) artist in the Philadelphia suburbs. I am self taught and I specialize in children’s growth chart rulers marking memories for years to come! All of my work is hand burned by myself no machines or lasers! I also dabble in other mediums and crafts!
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
Community over competition!
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Teaching someone something they can use in their daily life. Practical skills.
