We were lucky to catch up with Amanda Perez Abreu recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Amanda, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
My story behind my mission to offer home ownership comes from my desire to address societal issues such as affordability, stability, and wealth building. For me, recognition of the importance of stable housing for individuals and families, as well as the belief that Real Estate will always be one of the best investments someone could ever possess for various reasons including stability, wealth, control and freedom, financial security, and generational wealth.
Amanda, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I was born and raised in la Isla del Encanto, my beautiful Puerto Rico. My passion for Mortgages started when I randomly got a job Interview at a Mortgage company that I really didn’t even know I applied to. I worked for that company as a Home Retention Specialist when COVID started. I would help people and assist them with payment arrangements in order to avoid going into Foreclosure. That’s when the spark happened. I ended up moving to North Carolina, and unfortunately, I had to let that opportunity go because I wasn’t able to transfer. Time passed by; I got certified as a Credit Counselor. It’s always been a passion of mine to be able to help people, but I would always think about going back to the Mortgage Industry over and over again; that thought would never leave me alone. Eventually, I started doing my research on how to become a realtor, and somehow, I found information on how to become a Loan Officer instead. Having a background in Finance and Accounting for the past 8 years, this was a better fit for me. I started as a Loan Officer assistant back in 2021, and after 6-7 months, I felt ready to transition to being a Loan Officer. I’m also Bilingual and love serving our Hispanic community.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
Atomic Habits is a book that I recommend to everyone, specially if you’re struggling with building long term positive/on going habits. Also, a very close friend recommended me Think and Grow Rich, which it has very valuable and impactful information.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
As a mortgage loan officer, I believe several factors have contributed to building my reputation within the market. Firstly, my commitment to providing exceptional customer service, my dedication to consistently providing reliable information and solutions to my clients and business partners. I prioritize clear communication, transparency, and responsiveness throughout the loan process, which fosters trust and satisfaction among clients. Additionally, my deep understanding of mortgage products and regulations enables me to offer tailored solutions that meet the unique needs of each borrower. This expertise not only instills confidence in my clients but also positions me as a trusted advisor within the industry. Furthermore, maintaining integrity and ethical standards in all my interactions has been crucial in building long-lasting relationships with clients, referral partners, and colleagues. Finally, I actively seek feedback and continually strive to improve my skills and knowledge, ensuring that I stay informed about market trends and best practices. It’s the combination of all these factors that has helped me build a strong reputation as a mortgage loan officer within the market.
