We were lucky to catch up with Amanda Martinez recently and have shared our conversation below.
Amanda , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
Here is my story of the risk I took for Madpetals! Prior to COVID-19 I was always interested in the botanical, natural plant based products. I wondered why were plants for important s and how do they benefit us. I did my research, made some products of my own, I risked the chance of being allergic to a plant, a product and I also risked asking for volunteers!! I laugh now because I’m glad I did take that risk for trial and error to finally see what sold best and what didn’t. I found out what worked for certain types of skin and I really was proud to say I had loyal customers! I don’t regret taking that risk and I’m
So glad I did!!
Amanda , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hello lovelies, My name is Amanda and I’m the owner and creator of Madpetals est 2019 in League City, Texas. I was inspired by the hibiscus plant that grew in my yard 2015 and actually learned all its benefits to the human body. Having a medical background gave me the knowledge that not every body type is the same, so creating products to have everyone enjoy is a must for me! My products are hand made with natural botanicals 🌱 to help with soothe the skin from muscle aches, dry skin and even acne.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
SOCIAL MEDIA is key and FREE!!! When they say everything is content, everything can be used for content! I build my audience on my Instagram storyline by taking pictures of my flowers blooming and sharing a song I loved to go with it!! Your particular audience will grasp to what your vision is! It’s all about creating your vision and bringing it to life on social media! I highly recommend it!
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
The journey was definitely on a pause for some time mid last year. I definitely took a turn for more capital and the consistency to MADpetals took a toll. I quit posting,I quit creating and turned my focus elsewhere. What I learned most importantly in a business is consistency. When I redirected myself back to managing both and I kept my online webpage still active, things slowly started to get better. MADpetals definitely a journey and She is still blooming! 🌱🪴
