We were lucky to catch up with Amanda Herd recently and have shared our conversation below.
Amanda , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
What does it take to be successful? This question is incredibly personal, as the definition of success is unique to each individual. Identifying what success means to us can help us understand what it takes to achieve it. It took me a long time to grasp that success comes from an inner understanding of the word. For years, I looked at success through the lens of what others were accomplishing, which seemed to be more than what I was doing. It wasn’t until I deepened my relationship with God that I learned what success meant to me. I remember being shown a vision during prayer which revealed the amazing things I would one day take part in. Initially, I felt overwhelmed, thinking that I could never reach those heights. However, I prayed for insight on how to move forward and was instructed to remove myself from the lane of comparison. As someone who worked in retail for many years, comparison was something I was comfortable with. I had a solid understanding that to beat my competitors, I had to keep my eyes on what they were doing. But with God, we are called to be committed to His way, which leads to His perfect will. This commitment requires operating in obedience, which for me, meant submitting my ideas and plans to Him. Though it was uncomfortable, I steered away from the things that caused me to compare, such as growth numbers, followers, and listening to podcasts similar to my own. By focusing on what was in front of me and who I was becoming, I became my greatest competitor, which led me to one success story after another. Being successful means taking the next step in becoming who you wholeheartedly desire to be. Doubt, failure, frustration, and self-sabotage may try to creep in, but as long as you are taking it step-by-step, you are winning every day, and that is true success!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Have you ever had to pivot?
The Power of Pivoting in Business, Career, or Life Have you ever had to pivot? It’s not something we typically anticipate, but it can lead to freedom and growth. In fact, it’s a normal aspect of life and business – something that should be considered before launching a new venture.
When I started my business, Circle Up Enterprise, I was convinced that everything I touched would lead to success. But as I began to help people, I realized that some of the services I was offering could be given for free. This led to frustration and a sense of disillusionment.
In prayer, I turned to God for guidance and he showed me a new path. I was being prepared for something different – a new direction that would take me to greater heights. It wasn’t an easy process, but I pivoted from podcasting to life coaching. This was challenging because I had invested so much time and effort into podcasting, but it was the right choice.
Pivoting isn’t always easy, but it can be the key to unlocking your true potential. It doesn’t mean you have to start from scratch or that you won’t have to pivot again in the future. But it can lead to success beyond your wildest dreams.
When you’re faced with the need to pivot, it’s important to remember that change can be scary. It’s human nature to resist change and to want to stay in our comfort zones. But the truth is that growth and progress often require us to step outside of our comfort zones and explore new possibilities.
One of the most important things you can do when pivoting is to stay positive and open-minded. Instead of seeing a pivot as a setback, try to view it as an opportunity to learn and grow. Look for the silver lining in the situation and focus on the potential benefits that could come from making a change.
Another key factor in successful pivoting is flexibility. It’s important to be flexible and willing to adapt to changing circumstances. This might mean letting go of old ideas or plans and being open to new ones. It might mean taking a different approach to problem-solving or being willing to try new things.
Ultimately, pivoting is about being willing to take risks and being open to the unexpected. It’s about having the courage to change course when necessary and to trust that you’ll find your way to where you’re meant to be. So if you’re facing a situation that requires a pivot, take heart – it could be the start of an exciting new journey.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Can you tell us the story of how you built your audience on social media? Any advice for those just starting to build the social media presence? Coming from the person who always wanted to be in the background but also not wanting to be forgotten. Building an audience on social media can definitely be a journey within itself. I ran into a lot of challenges in the beginning trying to build an audience on social media at first it was all about the number and the reason for this is not because I was interested in who was following it was more so because in order to do certain things on certain platforms you had to have a specific number this was really hard and challenging because I am one who is not a loud person. I have learned throughout life especially in the business realm that planning is business. And if you’re fortunate enough to create a team to help you plan your already in the gold mine. I don’t want you to get lost if you don’t have a team. Here are some simple steps to help you build your audience on social media that I have used and have had amazing results. Step one identify your audience, who are you talking to who do you want to see your content and if you were on the other side of your contacts would you continue to scroll or would you stop to engage. Step two find other social media platforms that share in the same likeness of what you are producing. Don’t be afraid to engage, it’s necessary to connect with those inside of those other platforms not only wil Will you pick up some great information that could help expand your brand but also you are taking your step one to the next level. Step three remember your social media is your biggest fan. When no one else is speaking when no one else is hyping you up when no one else is operating the business your social media is always at work. So be sure to give you our social media a personality that suits your business best.
I put all three of these tools into practice trust me with consistency and discipline I have found great results I’ve learned that there’s so many tools on social media that can help us be more active than non-active it’s OK to over share being in a world where so many people are posting in the same second that you were posting you want your postings to remain at the top of the feed so post as you feel necessary! With that said understand that under posting is dangerous I’ve literally lost an entire platform for not posting enough. I’ve even lost people who were interested in what I was providing but due to the fact that they weren’t seeing enough of what I was offering they begin to Unfollow. With this I found the social media Contant calendar so now one day out of the month and sometimes a week out of the month I Soley focus on building my Contant for the next 30 days and filling it into the Contant calendar so that you can post when I may not even be thinking about it. If this is not an area where you are strong at it is vital that you connect with a company or partner with someone who is a Contant creator that can help pull your thoughts out of your head onto paper and bring them into the social world for you trust me when I say it is worth any and every penny you put into it again your social platform is your biggest fan it can either help grow you or simply eliminate you I’ve been on both ends of the stick
Building a Social Media Audience: Tips and Tricks from Personal Experience
Are you looking to grow your social media presence, but not sure where to start? As someone who prefers to operate behind the scenes while still making an impact, I’ve had to navigate the challenges of building an audience on social media. At first, I was fixated on the numbers, as certain platforms require a specific following to access certain features. However, I’ve learned that planning is key to success in the business world. Here are some simple steps that I have used to build my audience on social media:
Identify your target audience: Who do you want to see your content? Would you stop scrolling to engage with your own content, if you were in your audience’s shoes?
Find like-minded individuals or brands on other social media platforms and engage with them. Connect with them to expand your brand and gain valuable insights.
Remember that your social media platforms are your biggest fans. They work for you 24/7, even when you’re not actively engaging with your audience. Make sure that your social media has a personality that suits your brand and post regularly to keep your followers engaged.
Consistency and discipline are key to building a successful social media presence. There are many tools that can help you streamline your process and stay active on social media. Over-sharing is okay, and under-posting can be detrimental to your audience growth. To ensure that you stay on top of your game, consider using a social media content calendar to plan and schedule your posts in advance.
If content creation is not your strong suit, consider partnering with a content creator who can help bring your ideas to life. Trust me, investing in a content creator is worth every penny – your social media platform can either help you grow or eliminate you.
Remember, building a social media audience is a journey, and it requires patience, consistency, and hard work. But with the right strategies in place, you can achieve great results.
Another important aspect to growing your social media presence is to be authentic and genuine in your interactions with your audience. People can tell when you’re not being sincere, and it can be a major turn off. Respond to comments and messages, and take the time to genuinely connect with your followers. Building a loyal and engaged audience takes time, but it’s worth it in the long run.
It’s also important to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and changes in the social media world. Platforms are constantly evolving, and what worked six months ago might not work now. Take the time to do your research and stay informed to ensure you’re using the most effective strategies to grow your audience.
Finally, don’t be afraid to experiment and try new things. Social media is all about creativity and innovation, so don’t be afraid to push the boundaries and try something new. You never know what might resonate with your audience and help you grow your following even more.
By following these tips and tricks, you’ll be well on your way to building a successful social media presence and growing your audience. Remember to stay true to yourself and your brand, and don’t get discouraged if growth doesn’t happen overnight. With hard work and dedication, you can achieve great things on social media.
