We recently connected with Amanda Greene and have shared our conversation below.
Amanda, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Helping others to DeClutter, Deep clean and Organize their space creates a starting point. Some many people suffer from depression, bondage, daily life events, my help shows them that theirs light at the end of their tunnel. Our homes are our peace, relaxation place, and sanity, there’s no better feeling then to utilize your space, cleaniness and free of clutter.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Prior to creating Tidy Blake Services. I use to work for someone performing commercial cleaning for 5 years. In 2019 I experience my OCD being over the top lol. Everything in my home had to be in place. I found my self demanding a spacious area with no clutter. Most people don’t think that they have space in their home. Whether it’s counter space, cabinet space or closet space. The key is to get rid of items that you haven’t use in a year or more. This creates a home for other items without having to have items out sitting around for easy access. Having things sitting around for easy access creates clutter. Once you DeClutter all areas in your home, you are now able to organize your space. Clear counter space, nothing on top of your fridge, not having every perfume or cologne on your dresser. Oh boy what a difference that type of stuff makes. Now the easy part. Deep cleaning your baseboards, windowsills, ceiling fans, dusting all areas that you couldn’t see before due to clutter.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
In January of 2022 I decided to take a leap of faith and resign from my employer of 10 years to pursue my business full-time. What did that mean for me? Well building my team. However after 11 months of being a team of 1 with no luck of dependable reliable people to help, servicing 15 to 20 clients a month, my business became draining. I then had to take a step back so that I wouldn’t no longer enjoyed what I loved to do. I’m not giving up, hopefully my team will flourish soon.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I started my business May of 2020 team of 1 with occasional help. Two full time jobs and performing my business pastime, in 1 year I made 16k. 2nd year still pastime team of 1 I had 23k. 3rd year still team of 1 30k. I say this to say never give up, it’s all in what you make it.
