We recently connected with Amanda Garcia and have shared our conversation below.
Amanda, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
Consistency, grit and perseverance. When I first started as an entrepreneur I read a book by Angela Duckworth that illistrates success hinges on grit – an unwavering combination of passion and perseverance. If I wanted to be successful, it was going to take consistent effort over time, even when faced with setbacks. True success is not just about talent; it’s about the relentless pursuit of your goals, fueled by grit and perseverance.
Never give up and always keep God involved.

Amanda, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Amanda Garcia is a dedicated Broker Associate with Sunshine Realty Group and owner of Sunshine Residential Property Management. Known for her vibrant personality, forward-thinking, and commitment to helping others, she is a force to reckon with.
Her intimate knowledge of the local market, coupled with her passion for helping others, makes her a valuable asset to her clients, colleagues, and community.
Amanda created the Sunshine Brands in 2019. She is a serial entrepreneur whose success is driven by grit and perseverance. Her clients can count on her to bring the most relevant industry updates, make sound investments with little risk, and build a diverse real estate portfolio through strategic planning.
Amanda is a passionate advocate for affordable housing in the community. She actively participates in local initiatives aimed at improving housing accessibility and quality, ensuring that everyone has a place to call home. She is a Policy Ambassador for the City of Austin Council, District 1, the 2024 Legislature Management Chair for Rental Issues at Austin Board of Realtors, and is an active member of BLC. Amanda is also the founder of the Sunshine Supportive Housing Program which aims to connect with local and state organizations to close the gap on housing for renters with affordable housing opportunities.
Amanda is currently studying to become a real estate Attorney in the State of Texas. In her free time, Amanda dedicates her time and resources to various charitable organizations, focusing on housing, community development, and mental health initiatives. She loves volunteering with her kids, traveling, cooking, and being outdoors.
Fun Fact: I used to sing, “You Are My Sunshine” when my daugther, Vivian, was little and when I was building the brands, I asked her what we should name it, she playfully said Sunshine! I loved it and its been Sunshine ever since. I still sing to her, shes 15 now.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Word of Mouth. Almost 95% of my business if word of mouth.
I have thankfully been able to built a business off my reputation and involvement in the community. I pride myself on being known for my expertise in property management, business and community. When you start your own business or even if you are working a 9 to 5, you are a walking business so how you act, speak and move in public will dictate your success and whether you are relevant. Be involved, stay active, volunteer, join a local board, go to networking events, travel to conferences, SPEND MONEY to invest in yourself. No matter what you are doing in life, what you are putting into it, is what you will get out of it. Read that again.
