We recently connected with Amanda & Dex Badgett and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Amanda & Dex, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.

We started our Amanda & Dex accounts on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube in 2023 because we want to share fun moments around married life, parenting, and living in the Charleston area.

Dex has had a strong passion for social media for the past two decades and ended up transitioning into a career field of working in gaming social. Over time, we’ve seen couples take advantage of fun social media trends. There were a few that we did, and posted them on our personal social media pages. They usually did pretty well, which resulted in our friends leaving comments like: “more of this please” or sending us other fun things that we could use for inspiration. That sparked the idea and conversation around starting us a page where we could post the type of content that we do — so that’s how we ended up starting “Amanda & Dex”

Since then we’ve seen significant growth and have had some awesome opportunities so far. We’re hoping to keep that momentum moving forward to see where it could take us in the future!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

We’re Amanda & Dex! We’ve been married for almost 20 years. We love spending time together and enjoy each other’s company. That being said, we decided to start our channels to bring those who are interested in our story, along with us on our journey!

We create IRL content around married life, parenting, and also enjoy highlighting things to do in Charleston, SC as well as other cities we visit! One of the things that makes us the most proud about the content that we make is that it’s light hearted entertainment, that allows us to be our authentic selves. It allows for those who consume our content to escape the daily grind, and hopefully puts a smile on their face!

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

Our passion for creating content on various social media platforms isn’t driven by having a concrete goal. We feel that’s unique because it allows us to have fun along the way! It gives us room to be intentional about what we post, but it doesn’t bring the added stress of having certain expectations for how our posts could/should perform.

We are inspired by those who have built large platforms around posting content, and are interested to see where this journey could take us in the future. Most importantly, we’re just having fun!

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?

One thing that social media professionals consider with each and ever post: User behavior. What are you wanting someone to do with the content they are consuming? Is it sharing the content with someone else who may enjoy it? Are you wanting them to leave a comment to engage with you as a creator or a brand?

That’s something that the average viewer or fan may not consider, even though it’s incredibly helpful to social media content creators. The more often you can leave a like on a piece of content you enjoy watching, maybe share it with others, post it to your Instagram Story, etc, the better the content could have a chance of performing. Little things like that can help your favorite content content creators go much further in their journey! The best part of all of that? It’s completely free to support them that way!
