We recently connected with Amanda Clark and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Amanda, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
My business was born out of a life-altering moment.
At 29, I was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm—something that affects less than 5% of people and even fewer at my age. I was lucky because I worked in healthcare marketing and knew exactly who to call. The best neurosurgeon operated, but a rare complication meant I needed a vascular surgeon a week later. So, I called the best vascular surgeon. I had the privilege of access, insight and connections most people simply don’t have because I worked in the industry.
As I recovered, I couldn’t stop thinking about patients who don’t know who’s operating on them or their loved ones.
You just hope you’re in good hands, but you don’t really know. You don’t know because doctors and healers are notoriously bad at promoting themselves. We don’t want them to be marketers, we want them to be healers. But we still want to know what makes them special, why we should choose them, and how they approach caring for patients.
In 2018, I started side-hustling for the same neurosurgery practice that saved my life. I’d spend nights and weekends (between my full-time job and MBA classes) working on social media strategy and management for this practice. I was energized knowing that my contributions could help patients find their doctors, and help spread the word about serious conditions like aneurysms, stroke, tumors, Parkinson’s, etc.
Today, my business supports doctors and healers across specialties and across the US. From Los Angeles to Buffalo to New York City to Oklahoma Social Savvy MD is supporting those who so selflessly support patients and change lives every day.
My FAVORITE thing to hear is a story about how a patient found one of my clients because of a social media post. The impact is so much bigger than me, and I can’t believe I get to do this for my job.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
At my agency, we work with medical professionals—doctors, nurses, and healers of all kinds—to develop their social media strategy and brand, and manage their social media presence for them.
We collaborate closely with our clients and their teams to understand their “why,” establish them as thought leaders in their specialties, and equip them with the tools and confidence to not just show up on social media, but to shine in a way absolutely authentic to who they are, so they can attract more patients, business, and opportunities that are in alignment with their skillset and goals.
What excites me most about this work is the impact we have on our clients’ ability to help more people.
We work with both Western and Eastern medicine practitioners, whether an Ivy League neurosurgery practice or a functional medicine physician in LA. My experience with both Western and Eastern medicine, combined with strong marketing and business expertise, sets me apart as a marketing partner and entrepreneur in this specialized space.
We’ve grown our business over the past several years by offering one signature service: social media strategy and management. While this remains our preferred service, we recognize that some clients don’t need ongoing management. Instead, they seek a tailored strategy, branding tools to launch their presence, and accountability to maintain it without the daily management.
One of the main obstacles physicians and healers face when starting on social media is the fear of doing it wrong. That’s where we come in.
To address this, we created The Launchpad. This program begins with an audit and competitive analysis, followed by a custom strategy tailored to the client’s needs. We develop bios, set up accounts, create messaging and creative strategies, provide templates, conduct training sessions, and offer multiple post-launch check-in meetings.
The Launchpad is perfect for medical professional looking to get started or re-started on social. They can either work with their team to post regularly, or hire us!

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Referrals.
The group I target are notoriously brilliant, detail-oriented and typically hesitant to jump on trends. They’re also wary of anything that could be construed as a HIPAA violation. So, social media has been a place they’ve actively avoided. I get it. And part of our onboarding process includes multiple meetings and vibe checks to ensure that both the client and my team feel comfortable to move ahead together. It’s a partnership, and not something you 100% outsource.
Because this group is hesitant to trust just anyone with their reputation, referrals have been the major driver of business. We have a handful of excellent clients who share our name with other like-minded healers. It’s great because if they come referred from someone we love and trust, it’s almost always an excellent relationships.
Don’t neglect asking your current clients for referrals. A lot of time they might not want to share you, or may not even be aware that you’re taking on new work. Ask anyway… even better… send them a gift or a referral fee for their generosity!

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
