We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Amadiah Yehudah. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Amadiah below.
Amadiah, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How has Covid changed your business model?
When I was younger I always dreamed of owning my own business later in the future after modeling, but then Covid happened and put a stop to the world, So to make my time more fundamental I started looking up resources to start my brand, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to go for at first. It was all a joke at first because I didn’t know anything about starting a business, and I’m still learning as I go. When I started to take it more seriously by designing things that I would love to wear and what the girls love. At first, I started with T-shirts and hoodies that said eat your f*cking greens because I’m vegan then I branched out to bathing suits because it has always been my passion of mines. Ask anyone I’m the queen of swim. Now I know I can incorporate both of them into one for my brand.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers?
I was born in New York City, I went to the High School of Fashion Industries in the heart of Chelsea Manhattan. Where I received my diploma in fashion design. I originally wanted to be a fashion designer amongst other things but I called it quits on that thought. I decided to go to college upstate on an agricultural campus for nutrition where we had barn duty and I developed many interests such as an interest in food and health. I went to college upstate and then returned to New York, where I work many types of jobs in every field. I went To Paris for vacation and got discovered as a model. From there I started my career in modeling. Becoming a model after college made me interested in clothes again and design. I’ve always been known for my style of swim and not caring such as aka granny style. I decided to start my own line which is something I love and I feel so fulfilled to see my designs on people. I’m super proud that I just went for it, obviously not knowing how much hard work goes into working for yourself. Having a business comes with ups and downs but it’s such an amazing and rewarding experience.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Ah, yes The lesson that I had to unlearn was when I would first get a sample I would post it as soon as I got it and just give all the secrets to the drop away. I was just super excited to share with my followers. I now know that when I get a sample I need to wait to post even though Im excited to share the details, until I’m ready to share.

Do you sell on your site, or do you use a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc?
I currently sell on Shopify at the moment, I love Shopify because it offers A lot of very helpful features. It is very easy to use and record your numbers for instance when you are live you can see the amount of people who are on your website at that moment.
