Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Amadeus Purcell. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Amadeus, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.

I cannot stress this enough! You must take risks as a creative, entrepreneur, or entertainer. I’ve had so many magical moments occur in my life and career simply because I wasn’t scared to leap. There comes a time when you have to trust and rely on your divine intuition to guide you from point A to B. The most successful people in any given field have mastered the ability to do this. Of course, you can rely on trends, numbers, or anything that may appear to be fact to help guide you to make your best decision. However, I believe that only you know what is best for you. Nobody else will see your vision the way you do. Because of that, you can’t be afraid to do things your own way. The sooner you start listening to the voice within, the easier it will be to remain in alignment with your goals and ambitions.

Amadeus, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

My name is Amadeus Purcell. I am a 25-year-old published photographer, model, and creative from Greensboro, NC. Since we last spoke in 2019, my work has been featured in major publications such as Vogue, Wonderland, Harpers Bazaar, WWD, Grazia, Untitled Magazine, and more. I have expanded my business from Atlanta, now taking on clients in New York, Los Angeles, and Dallas Texas. I am proud of all the major things that have taken place over the past few years, including billboards around the US. I have had the opportunity to work with so many amazing stars and upcoming artists. I recently spoke to Nicki Minaj, who happens to be my favorite artist of all time. I look forward to working with her in the future. That would definitely be a moment for life, ha! Overall I’ve developed a deeper love and respect for my craft. I see every day as an opportunity to grow and evolve as an artist. I remember dreaming of all of these things that have now come to pass. Now my eyes are set on the future and I have never felt more confident in my ability to make all my dreams come true.

Have you ever had to pivot?

This summer was a severe pivoting season for me. A few months ago I thought it was in my best interest to sign with proper management. I found an agency in Los Angeles and took the leap to LA. It wasn’t long before I got the gut feeling that I was in the wrong place. For some odd reason, I habitually gave my location too much power. I thought my best work in ATL was because I was in ATL. I believed my proudest moments in NYC were only because I was in NYC. Eventually, I realized that it was never my location. It was always me. Now I understand that I can prosper where ever I am planted simply because of who I am and what I offer to the world. All of my dreams have the potential to come true exactly where I am at this moment. There is nothing more required of me. This experience has been eye-opening. I have learned what it means to pivot when the time comes.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

One of my main goals is to capture Nicki Minaj for the cover of Vogue Magazine. Capturing that moment has been a goal of mine for so many years. I began manifesting that opportunity when I first picked up a camera in 2016. Since 2016 I’ve had many signs and confirmations that serve as a driving force. My recent conversation with her is just another one of those signs. I pray a year from now I’ll get to reflect on these moments and laugh at how aligned my life has always been. My power to manifest has had some serious upgrades over the past few years.
