We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Alyssia Leach a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Alyssia, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
In December 2022, I first got the idea to create conversation cards with the goal of bringing people together. Over the next two years, I hosted small dinner parties as a way to provide a safe space for people to engage in meaningful, deep conversations. But by 2024, I realized that wasn’t enough. While these dinners were valuable, I saw that people needed more than a nice evening—they needed real community. They were searching for spaces where they could connect, belong, and build lasting relationships.
On April 27, 2024, I took a step forward and invited a small group of young adults to a Nerf gun arcade. The event was a huge success, not because of the number of attendees but because of the overwhelming response: 1) People loved it, 2) They needed wholesome, engaging activities for the weekends, and 3) They craved more of it.
What started as a solution to combat loneliness grew into something larger. Over the next five months, this simple mission to foster community for young adults evolved into Club Seven, a social group centered around faith, fun, and fellowship. We’ve now hosted 14 gatherings, welcomed over 100 people, and made a significant impact in the local community of Louisville, KY.
Club Seven was created to serve young adults by offering a safe, welcoming space where they can truly be themselves and build authentic relationships. As an extrovert, I’ve always understood the importance of community—it energizes me—but I’ve also realized that this need for connection is universal. Both extroverts and introverts alike crave a sense of belonging.
Since 2020, there has been a noticeable rise in feelings of loneliness across all age groups and backgrounds. At Club Seven, we’ve chosen to focus specifically on young adults aged 20 to 34. This age range is a critical time in life when people are navigating major transitions—moving cities, starting or changing careers, launching families, or even moving back home. It’s during these pivotal moments that people need community the most, and we aim to be that anchor for them.

Alyssia, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hi, I’m Alyssia Leach, and I’m passionate about one thing: gathering people together. Whether through Club Seven, my social group for young adults, or my conversation cards business called At Table Seven, I love creating opportunities for people to connect in meaningful ways. I’m in the gathering industry, and my mission is to foster genuine connections, no matter the medium.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with various companies and nonprofit organizations to help them build stronger communities. In these roles, I’ve not only been a community builder but also developed systems that allow these organizations to better serve their audiences. From organizing events to facilitating growth strategies, I’ve always focused on creating environments where people feel seen, heard, and valued.
With Club Seven, we host two events every month—from casual hangouts like bowling or game nights to more intentional gatherings where we dig into deeper conversations. Our goal is simple: to provide a safe, faith-based community for young adults ages 20-34 where they can have fun, grow in their faith, and develop real relationships. Since launching, over 100 people have joined us, and the feedback has been amazing. Our community loves that they have a place to go where they can be themselves and connect with others in a meaningful way.
What sets me and Club Seven apart is that everything I do is deeply rooted in my faith. I believe that true change and connection come from building relationships centered on shared values. My faith is the foundation of both my work with Club Seven and the products I create for At Table Seven. The conversation cards I’ve designed are meant to help people break past surface-level talk and dive into discussions that build trust, vulnerability, and connection.
I’m incredibly proud to be a change agent. I’m not someone who just sees a problem and talks about it—I take action. I realized there was a need for community, especially for young adults, and instead of waiting for someone else to step in, I created spaces where those connections can happen. Whether it’s through organizing events for Club Seven or helping other organizations develop community-building strategies, I’m committed to making things happen.
At the end of the day, I want people to know that I’m passionate about creating spaces that make people feel like they belong. Whether you’re attending a Club Seven event or using At Table Seven conversation cards, I want you to leave feeling more connected—to yourself, to others, and to your community.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best source of new members for Club Seven has undoubtedly been word of mouth. We’ve found that once people discover us, either through our social media or by attending one of our gatherings, they’re so appreciative of the experience that they can’t help but share it with others. It’s common for someone to attend a gathering, love it, and then tell two or three friends about it, who then come to the next event. This organic growth has been key to building our community, and it speaks to the genuine connections and fun atmosphere that Club Seven offers. There’s no better endorsement than someone who’s experienced it firsthand and is excited to invite others into that same space.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
I consider myself a student of life—always learning, growing, and seeking new ways to improve. Learning is something I truly value, and I pride myself on being intentional about it. In terms of entrepreneurial concepts and strategy, I regularly study the work of Myron Golden, Gary Vee, and Mia Ray. Each of them brings a unique perspective on building businesses, scaling, and maintaining authenticity in your work, which has greatly influenced how I approach my ventures.
I’m also a fan of the Founders Podcast, which breaks down the biographies of influential leaders and business owners like Jeff Bezos, Rolls Royce, and the founders of Walmart and Whole Foods. These stories give me insight into the journeys and challenges faced by industry giants and inspire me to keep pushing forward.
Additionally, I read a lot of books on hospitality because I’m passionate about how to better serve people. But above all, my favorite resource is the Bible. The biblical teachings have not only shaped my personal life but also how I lead, serve, and manage my business with integrity and purpose.
