Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alyssa Malchiodi. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alyssa, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
I’m on a mission to make the law more accessible to online business owners and to give them legal peace of mind.
Let’s be honest – lawyers are annoyingly expensive, hard to understand, and tend to get a bad rap.
I get it. I’ve been a practicing attorney for over 10 years (suits and courtroom appearances). I wouldn’t want to afford me either at $550 an hour – especially when just starting a business. Entrepreneurs need an alternative to those old, stuffy law firms.
So that’s why I started this business – to fill in that gap.
The creative industry and online businesses selling services/digital products face legal issues and questions on the daily, but don’t have a team of lawyers on the ready. And, there is a ton of legal misinformation and “free” online resources that make them legally vulnerable because they simply don’t know what they don’t know.
I’m here to change that.
I don’t just offer legal services and sell high-quality, affordable templates, but I also include legal training to empower my clients with the legal know-how. Templates are worthless unless you know how to use them correctly. The legal side of business no longer has to be scary or the reason people don’t start, instead, it can be empowering.
So yeah, I’m super passionate about making the law more accessible to all, instead of the privileged few.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m a civil litigator and founder of Legal Doer LLC. I’ve been a practicing attorney in the State of California and Nevada for over 10 years. Almost a year ago, I started Legal Doer to provide alternative legal resources to paid content creators (like, UGC Creators and Influencers) and online businesses selling digital products or services.
I’m also a mom to a 4 4-year-old and a 1-year-old, live in sunny San Diego, California, and love to scuba dive. Just went part-time at the law firm to dedicate more time to supporting creators and entrepreneurs. I’ve met the most incredible people online and I’m so honored to support them. It is an indescribable feeling to send a lawyerly drafted letter to another creator or brand who has stolen my client’s content and get them to take it down and pay money, or help a creator make an extra thousand from learning how to properly license their content, or provide peace of mind to creators that needed their burning questions answered.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
My past clients!
I strive to deliver the highest quality digital products and services. And, I’m all about brand values – like love, integrity, and trust.
The Legal Doer Community is everything to me. When someone buys a template or service from me, and it’s not the right fit – refund. If an affiliate is posting about racism, anti-Semitism, body shaming, being homophobic, etc. – that’s a no and they will be disapproved. If a template needs to be updated, all past clients get the update free of charge.
Don’t get me wrong – I’m a business and I’m all about making money, but in an ethical and supportive way. I think my past clients understand this and trust that I will do right by them and anyone they refer to me.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
I love self-help books. Here are three:
1.) What to Say When You Talk to Your Self by Shad Helmstetter, Ph.D.: this is a great mindset book and discovering how to program better self-talk.
2.) The War of Art by Steven Pressfield: about creative blocks and internal obstacles that we face as entrepreneurs.
3.) The One Thing by Gary Keller and Jay Papasan: productivity hacks.
