We were lucky to catch up with Alyssa Ebba recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alyssa, appreciate you joining us today. One of the most important things small businesses can do, in our view, is to serve underserved communities that are ignored by giant corporations who often are just creating mass-market, one-size-fits-all solutions. Talk to us about how you serve an underserved community.
As of right now, Ebbalasting Photography is not yet teamed up with any underserved communities but we are always open minded and accepting. I strongly believe that it is important to help those in need. Not only because I was one of them before with my mom and our family just having come to the US from the Philippines; but also because I love helping people. And in doing so, not only do I make people happy but it can also put my business in the streets by word of mouth!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Alyssa and I got into photography simply through my love for the lens. What was once a hobby turned into a business once I got out of the military. Here at Ebbalasting Photography we not only offer quality photography but handmade products as well that you can customize. Among these items are shirts and tumblers. We also offer video editing and logo designing as well.
I am very proud of being so versatile and being able to creatively adapt as I believe it makes me standout from others. I love turning something completely ordinary into something extraordinary.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Coming from my returning clients, many of them have told me that my quick turn around time and my bubbly personality really builds my reputation. They have said that I am friendly and someone they’d love to have around!

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective way for me to grow my clientele is FREEBIES. I do a raffle every so often. In trade, 1 follow = 1 raffle ticket entry for a free prize. This not only grows my followers but it also helps spread my name by word of mouth. I also offer loyalty discount cards where if you shoot enough with me you get a mini session half off and etc.
