We recently connected with Alyssa Dennis and have shared our conversation below.
Alyssa, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I worked at a Bakery my junior year of highschool. I loved working there creating pretty treats for all of the customers. I decided to start my own treat business from then on. My first order was a TikTok themed birthday party. I made dipped strawberries, pretzel rods, and oreos. I started with dipped treats, then I stared making cupcakes, cookies, and mini cakes. I now offer dipped treats, cookies, cupcakes, mini cakes, and cakesicles.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I offer dipped treats, cupcakes, mini cakes, cookies, cakepops and cakesicles. I will be making new items every once in a while. I love creating new items so I’ll always be creating things. What sets my business apart from others is I make all my cookies and cakes from scratch. And I make them look presentable & pretty. I’m most proud of the people in my life that support me through my life journey.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
I had some money saved when I first started my business. I used some to buy the things I needed for the orders I got. When I got the money from the orders I put it right back into my business. I of course paid myself as well. But when you first start a business you have to risk somethings just to make a profit.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Facebook has gotten my business a bunch of new clients. I have people sharing my posts. Then they message me asking if they can order.
