Alyssa, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Going back to the beginning – how did you come up with the idea in the first place?

My parents were small business owners, and I watched as they worked hard to build their business. There were always services they knew would help them grow, but was just out of their budget and as a small business, they would lose out on customers they knew they could help but just weren’t able to reach. I started in photography as a hobby, then was presented with an opportunity to work in real estate media. Over the years of networking and connecting with business owners of all industries and sizes I realized there is still a gap in marketing and branding services for small business and entrepreneurs.. This led me to start offering my photography and video services at an affordable rate to those who could not afford larger marketing agencies, but had valuable services and products to offer the community….. Fast forward to now and my primary focus is branding and social media management for the “the little guy” if you will, I work hard to ensure my rates are fair, affordable and will customize a plan to fit any budget needs., No business should be left behind in this era of digital marketing.

Have you ever had to pivot?

The biggest pivot came in 2021 with the real estate market still recovering from the Covid pandemic, I was a full time real estate media company previously, but as the market shifted and stayed at a halt business took a hit along with most every business as we navigated the economic aftermath of the pandemic and how that was effecting us all in different ways. Through this time when work was not picking back up, is when I was able to spend time with other business owners in Norther Colorado in master minds, open discussions and networking events that open my eyes to the needs of the business community. This down time allowed me to start serving others in their time of need by offering my services at an affordable rate.
It was through this process that within the year I was able to pivot, rebrand and start a new business with a focus on the small business and entrepreneurs in Norther Colorado.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?

There are business development centers and non profits focused on helping individuals start their business. I wish I knew about those options in my area, as well how to contact them when I started my business. There is so much more that goes into running a business than just providing a service or product. With the business development centers they help go over federal and state filing, book keeping options, sales tax, etc. I was fortunate to have some knowledge before starting my business but to have options and resources in one location or someone we can call or contact with questions as they arise would have been beneficial, and I refer current clients the my local business development center regularly.
