We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Alyson Fields a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alyson, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
Learning to create custom party favors took a lot of time and research; From YouTube to social media like instagram, Facebook and TikTok, I paid attention to all of the things other people in this field were doing. Most creators do offer classes but they were so expensive and I trusted myself to learn on my own. I used my creativity and research to first learn to create a custom chip bag and then from there, I used those skills to create more items.

Greetings everyone! I am Alyson from Aly’s Party Creations located in Atlanta, Ga. I am a self-taught creator of custom party favors and decorations. Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
To fund Aly’s Party Creations, I started with enough supplies to create my first order and then I slowly built from there. I saved up to buy my first printer from Office Depot, it was a floor model and also the middle of the COVID 19 pandemic, so the purchase was scary but necessary to be successful. It doesn’t take much money to be successful in this industry, more so the mental creativity.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is to leave my job and run Aly’s Party Creations full-time. It has always been a dream of mines and I know that with hard work and dedication, that my dream will come true.
