We recently connected with Alyshia Jackson and have shared our conversation below.
Alyshia, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
Starting my own business as a single mom of 2. I started my company during the pandemic trying to create a flexible/reliable income for my family. Not having the savings or even resources to enter the business world but having the mindset I will get it done is what has got me this far. From spending my last savings on equipment and supplies to gain my first customer which was extremely hard. I knew I had major responsibilities but I knew I could bet on myself. The process wasn’t easy but I wouldn’t trade it for nothing I am going on 3 years in business and 1.5 working full time for myself. I

I am a black women owned commercial cleaning company. I got into my industry during Covid trying to provide a different route for myself and 2 kids. I first started cleaning commercial while volunteering in the city to rebuild the community after a tragic incident and found peace in being able to be apart of putting that final touch on a re opening of a business. Turned something a enjoyed into a career. One thing that sets me apart is we provide a 1st class experience the 1st time.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
This is awesome. Me starting my business was a major pivot from a 9-5 being a independent mom during Covid. I was wearing several hats from being a home school teacher, provider, working from home, along with regular duties as head of house that took a extreme toll on me and I had to find something that brought me a little peace along with sustainable for my lifestyle. During Covid I didn’t know what was going to happen next from or even our health so I had to make a quick change.
Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
Capital was extremely hard and honestly 3 years in business it’s still not easy I had to strap boot my business due to not receiving funding. I exhausted my savings to start
