Alyshia and Marion, appreciate you joining us today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
Driven by our desire to make an impact in the skincare space, we brainstormed areas where we could truly offer solutions for people like us. Hormonal acne was something we had both experienced firsthand, and it sparked the idea – pimple patches. While we had both tried patches in the past, many seemed like novelties or failed to stay in place.
Determined to bring something different to the market, we partnered with a formulator specializing in hydrocolloid patches. We envisioned something elevated, high-quality, and, most importantly, effective. That’s when the concept of Bloom came into fruition. Our custom-designed, floral-shaped hydrocolloid pimple patches, affectionately known as Bloomies™,emerged as a staple product. What sets us apart is not just the patch itself, but the thoughtful design of our Bloom Bouquet™—a sleek, mirrored compact that elegantly stores your Bloomies™ for ongoing use.
At Bloom Brand Co., our products embody the belief that no matter where you are in your skincare journey, you can always “Bloom where you are.” As we developed Bloom Brand Co., we paid close attention to the everyday reality of dealing with acne and blemishes. We wanted the ‘Bloom Bouquet’ to be not just a beautiful compact but also functional—something you could easily carry with you and reuse again and again. A toiletry or make-up bag essential if you will.
When Bloom was ready to make its debut, we knew our mission was more than just skincare; it was about creating a brand that embodied the values of our friendship—authenticity, empowerment, and an elevated sense of self. Our branding was intentionally crafted to reflect these values, showing our connection to those who, like us, are constantly in the process of blooming. The community we’re building is a reflection of this journey, a space for those who are growing, evolving, and embracing every step along the way.

Founded by best friends Marion and Alyshia, we started this journey with shared values: to help people feel their best, even on days when confidence might be low. Both of us have faced various skincare challenges, which inspired us to create a product that is not only effective but also elevates the self-care experience.
The beauty industry often emphasizes covering up flaws, but we see things differently. Our goal is to help people feel their best by enhancing the skin’s natural healing process. We believe in creating products that not only solve skincare concerns but also boost self-esteem and help our customers feel great in their own skin. Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Before founding Bloom Brand Co., we dedicated a year to developing a lip product, fully immersing ourselves in the research and formulation process. We explored every aspect of product development, from testing textures to refining flavors and scents. As newcomers to the industry, we learned and adapted, and after perfecting the formula, we faced the challenge of compatibility testing. Throughout this journey, we envisioned creating a brand that would encourage individuals to embrace their natural beauty. However, as we continued our research, we realized our true passion extended beyond lip care—toward creating a distinctive skincare approach that would uplift and instill confidence.
During this phase of exploration and development, our creative director, Alyshia, had a breakthrough moment. She introduced the concept of Bloom—a brand dedicated to empowering individuals with effective skincare solutions that celebrate their individuality. This insight led us to shift our focus from a single lip product to a broader vision, one centered around skincare that nurtures self-love and builds confidence.
This pivot was more than just a change in direction; it marked a transformative moment for us. We embraced the chance to develop our signature product, the Bloom Bouquet™, featuring our floral pimple patches, Bloomies™. By refocusing, we created products that not only address skin concerns but also resonate with people of all ages, encouraging them to feel their best.
This experience reinforced the value of flexibility and trusting our instincts. It reaffirmed our belief that beauty is a journey, and we are proud to have taken this new path—one that empowers our community of Bloom Besties through every step of their skincare journey.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
As Middle Eastern-American women, resilience runs deep in our DNA. We’ve both been raised in entrepreneurial families, and this upbringing has instilled a sense of boldness in the way we navigate life and pursue our passions. We approach challenges head-on, with unwavering confidence in the values we stand for and the direction we want to take, both personally and professionally. This boldness is a core part of who we are, and it has been essential in shaping our journey with Bloom Brand Co.
Our path hasn’t been easy. We invested considerable time, energy, and financial resources into a product that, despite our best efforts, never saw the light of day. But instead of letting that setback define us, we saw it as a lesson in persistence. Starting over from scratch was a daunting task, but it only fueled our determination to find our place in the skincare industry. This experience reinforced our belief that tenacity and the ability to adapt are critical to success, especially in a competitive and ever-evolving space like skincare and beauty.
Neither of us had formal training or experience in beauty, e-commerce, or retail when we started. It was a steep learning curve, but we committed ourselves to understanding every facet of the business—from product development to marketing to connecting authentically with our community. We’ve become students of the industry, soaking up knowledge and constantly refining our approach. What drives us is not just the desire to succeed but the desire to genuinely impact the lives of our customers, to be more than just a skincare brand, and to build a community where people feel seen, supported, and empowered.
Throughout this process, we’ve learned to embrace our individual strengths and weaknesses. By acknowledging where we each excel and where we need support, we’ve been able to carve out roles that maximize our contributions to the brand and, most importantly, to our customers. This self-awareness and willingness to evolve have become central to our identity as founders and leaders.
Being adaptable has been crucial, not only for us as individuals but for the brand itself. We pride ourselves on our ability to pivot when necessary, to respond to the needs of our community, and to grow alongside them.
