We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Alyceson-Grace Eke. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Alyceson-Grace below.
Alyceson-Grace, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
I’m in the middle of the biggest risk I’ve ever taken, actually. Come May 2026, I will be self-employed for two full years. It’s scary when it’s not what you initially planned. The transition came from being unexpectedly laid off from my corporate job at a private community bank in 2024. I’ll never forget the waves of stress as I realized my new home, new cat, and new life no longer had a guaranteed source of income. The job market has been ruthless as well, so the transition to a similar job or financially comparable one automatically had deep seated friction. The ECON Queen had been part of my life since 2021, but relying on its success for my financial health wasn’t going to be in the plans until after I was established in my profession. Obviously, I didn’t know what was coming, not to mention, we’re in a challenging wartime with egregious gas prices, high debts, and low wages. It’s all hard. The way I see it is that I have the privilege to immerse myself in the difficulties that my future clients are enduring. Achieving success can give others hope and a roadmap to financial victory, and helping others is worth every struggle, in my opinion.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
For those who don’t know, I am The ECON Queen! I guide lifelong learners to academic success and financial freedom. With personalized K-Collegiate subject tutoring and adult financial literacy classes, I will help you Claim Your Crown and become the royalty you were always destined to be. I have been in the education industry since I was a volunteer tutor for my university in 2018. The ECON Queen was founded in 2021 with the intention of serving people in academics, personal finance, and life skills. As of now, I provide subject tutoring for K-Collegiate students, SAT test prep for high school, financial literacy workshops for various ages, and individual financial literacy coaching for adults.
When people struggle with their grades or their finances, it has a negative impact on their self-esteem, and people tend to lose their identity in these manmade metrics. The arena is overwhelming when you’re the star player of your life and it feels as though you’re down by a dozen points. Even so, I am there on the sidelines, coaching you as you navigate the game of life and cheering you on along the way.
I’m proud of all my students, but a few notable moments include supporting a student for 5 years, and she earned her B.S. / M.S. with a perfect 4.0 GPA; or watching one of my SAT students increase her math score from a 410 to a 600 in the span of two weeks; or a guest at one of my financial literacy workshops coming to me to share her success in saving for the first time in her college life and we ultimately developed a friendship and deeper sense of community with each other. My students make me feel alive, honestly. I love when they succeed.
How you Claim Your Crown is up to you; I’m not setting out to define success for you. What I’ve found, though, is that people feel more assured in their knowledge when they get high scores. I’ve also found that people feel more hopeful when they have money in their savings accounts. Even further, I’ve seen that students mature into confident professionals when they are not only educated, but financially stable and knowledgeable without having to endure financial trauma to acquire such knowledge. What does success mean to you? How do you want to Claim Your Crown?

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Each audience varies for my social media, honestly. The ECON Queen is active on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn (yes, I will get to TikTok soon). It’s funny you talk about the social media presence, because I am considering starting a second Instagram account specifically for The ECON Queen’s SAT Program, or centering my Facebook page around that content. My Instagram audience is supermajority students of the University of North Texas or Tyler Junior College, so they don’t benefit from SAT content.
I dove in head first with social media because I knew it was essential for any business to gain traction. Between us, though, I don’t enjoy creating social media content. I try to avoid using AI for flyers and major projects, but it can take hours for me to come up with a design idea. I’m really picky for someone who uses Canva Pro and a sixth sense for every post.
For advice, I’d say to post consistently for the algorithm and don’t be afraid to ask your network to follow a page or repost a picture. Your friends will support your business, and when you surround yourself with business owners and professionals, they understand why marketing is important.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
My reputation as an individual is the root of my success within my industry. I was highly academically inclined: I graduated Top 10% in high school and Summa Cum Laude in college. I was a Teacher’s Assistant and a Lead Tutor for my university. My community knew I could answer nearly any question or find the answer through research. Intelligence, achievement, poise, confidence, excellence…these are words associated with me as a person. Ultimately, there is very little friction between my individual identity and my business identity because I am consistent in both environments. So, if a person knows me, they know my brand, and vice versa.
