We recently connected with Alvina Pruitt and have shared our conversation below.
Alvina, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
I hope my legacy is one that reflects purpose over popularity. I want people to say that I lived boldly, walked by faith, and helped others do the same- whether through travel, ministry, financial empowerment, or simply being present in someone’s moment of need.
I want to be remembered as someone who didn’t just talk about purpose but lived it- someone who turned pain into platforms, who helped people see beyond their limitations, and who reminded others that God can use every part of your story for something beautiful.
When I am gone, I hope people say that I helped them dream again, plan again, and believe again. That I challenged comfort zones, created opportunities, and sparked transformation; not just in boardrooms and on booking calls, but in real life.
Ultimately, I want my legacy to whisper to generations after me: “You were born for more- now go live like it.”

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m Alvina Pruitt- a faith-based travel entrepreneur, speaker, and financial literacy advocate. I like to say I help people wander with purpose; whether that’s by helping them see the world through curated travel experiences, gain control of their finances, or reconnect with the calling on their life.
My journey into entrepreneurship isn’t glamorous. Truly, it is ongoing. It was initially birthed out of burnout. After working in corporate spaces for years in sourcing and procurement roles, I reached a point where I realized I was building someone else’s dream while slowly losing connection with my own. I don’t hate my career, but I knew I wasn’t living to my full potential. So I leaned into prayer, purpose, and possibility… and that’s how Breath of Air Travel was born.
I started helping people plan trips, and quickly realized that it wasn’t just about booking flights and resorts. I was helping people take their first passport trip, reconnect with themselves after divorce, navigate grief, or finally go on the trip they’d been dreaming of for decades. My services evolved into something deeper: I provide travel with meaning.
Now, through my agency and platform, I offer:
-Group and solo travel planning services
-Education for aspiring travel agents through my travel business mentorship
-Speaking engagements on travel, faith, and financial wellness
-Digital products (like workbooks and courses) to help people live more freely financially, spiritually, and creatively.
What sets me apart is my ability to connect faith, freedom, and finances into one experience. I’m not just helping people go places, but I’m helping them grow through life. I’m most proud of the moments people come back to me and say, “That trip changed my life,” or “Your workshop helped me finally understand my budget,” or even “You gave me permission to believe again.” That’s the legacy I’m building- helping people pursue purpose without apology.
If you’re reading this, I want you to know: you don’t have to wait until you’ve “arrived” to start moving. Whether it’s your finances, your faith, or your future- you can start right where you are. That’s what my brand is all about.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
A major pivot for me was realizing I didn’t have to choose between a 9-5 and my purpose. I could build both. I stopped waiting for a “perfect time” and started growing my travel business and faith-based platform alongside my corporate role. The shift in mindset opened doors I never imagined and allowed me to walk in purpose while still honoring my current season.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I had to unlearn the idea that obedience to God always comes with clarity. I felt like I must be doing things wrong since business is challenging. That thinking was wrong and stifling. Like Abraham, I’ve had to move without all the answers- trusting the vision even when the details were missing. I used to wait until everything made sense. Now, I understand that faith often requires motion before manifestation.
