We were lucky to catch up with Alondra Dimas recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alondra , appreciate you joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
I am a first-generation Mexican- American artist and bruja by embracing both of these parts of myself equally, has allowed me to become rooted in my own work and connected to my ancestors. I became more at peace and fluid in my being as I started to communicate with that part of my soul.
I started by watching my mom who learned from my great-grandmother so I never lost that touch of working with plant medicine, but I do understand that not everyone gets to have that privilege which is what got me into teaching what I was taught. And creating this space of what you know as La Mujer Blanca Botanica.
I named my Botanica “La Mujer Blanca” because I am what you would label as “white-passing” often times my own physical self was discredited for not being “Mexican” enough. And so I created the Mujer Blanca as a physical representation of my roots and my dreams.
La Mujer Blanca Botanica is a space built on compassion, confidentiality, and integrity for all those seeking a safe space to confide in when they feel they have nowhere else to go. La Mujer Blanca Botanica was inspired by someone who has walked down many paths of repetitive cycles of trauma and found the strength to overcome hardships through their dark night of the soul. This is a place for those ready to work with the darker aspects of themselves.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Growing up I was an only child with a widowed mother, while some duos thrive in this aspect, my relationship with my mother struggled. It wasn’t because she was abusive or negligent, there was loads of love, but between two air signs that becomes a turbulent expression of self. Our souls were also different, so in trying to understand me and how I worked she turned to the stars and religion, but religion was never really her thing.
We grew up catholic, it’s the tradition in a Mexican household, funny to use the word tradition but it’s true! Since religion wasn’t doing it for her, she turned towards the metaphysical side, and if you’ve been on this side or even are just starting the journey into the realm of the stars and spirituality, it can get pretty confusing. Fear not she’s an Aquarius so she understood quite a bit, but she did it all by herself.
As children, we learn how to hold ourselves by watching our parental figure(s) and the way they hold themselves. Here are a couple of the things that I learned from her, keep to yourself and don’t ask for help no one in this life wants to help you, and if they do, they won’t allow you to learn. So I slowly became more and more introverted not to mention I wasn’t a “regular” kid so the ability to make friends, contradictory to my Libra Sun, was really difficult for me. I was excluded so often that I just left myself out eventually.
I never liked being girly or doing the things that girls did, but I couldn’t really be a part of the “boys club” because well I was a girl! However, it made me resistant and resilient, it made me strive to create my own world where those things didn’t matter. Even if I was a oner for a long time, eventually someone would want to be a part of this world… a part of my world. What was the purpose of this? Why bring all of these things up? Because no matter our childhood, no matter the circumstances that led us to be where we are today, we hold the power. We have the ability to change the way our life plays out! Was it hard? Yes! There were times when I wished myself out, but I kept it pushing. Did it get harder? God yes! Will it continue to be hard? No! What do I mean no!? The universe has laid it on me so hard that I look back and tell myself, I survived it. And now I work with clients from all sorts of backgrounds to overcome these things as well.
My personal methodology is derived from the traditional curanderismo including platicas (heart-to-hearts) and traditional limpias (spiritual cleanses) as well as going through a series of questions to help them to get to their truth, explore ideal ways for them to unlock their strengths, and help them hone in on those sets of skills. We also explore any surrounding trauma(s) that are needing to be released and patterns/cycles that are continually repeated whether regularly or erratically.
How did you build your audience on social media?
When it came to growing my social media presence one of my main focuses was staying honest while also providing a personalized experience. How did I achieve that? By hosting lives as well as doing One-Card pulls which in the spiritual community involves reading either a tarot or an Oracle card. This as well as the genuine shares by fellow practitioners and even past clients. This allowed me to grow a following within the span of a year and continues to grow even to this day.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
“Life doesn’t make it easy for the average person to attain success” talk about a common misbelief! Though some of us are born into circumstances that allow us a leg up, it doesn’t mean that the rest of us can’t follow suit. What is stopping us? What is stopping you? What are you truly afraid of?

It wasn’t because she was abusive or negligent, there was loads of love, but between two air signs that becomes a turbulent expression of self. Our souls were also different, I was older and she was younger. Meaning I had already been here on Earth quite a few times, while she had been here maybe a couple? In trying to understand me and how I worked she turned to the stars and religion, but religion was never really her thing.

I was excluded so often that I just left myself out eventually, money was also a thing that was scarce.
We weren’t living on the street or anything like that but we also didn’t have money for extra expenses. It never really bothered me until I was around 11/12 years old when the other kids started to comment on how I would always wear the same sweater, a sweater that had been a hand-me-down from some cousin or a great aunt’s niece. From then on I started to pay more and more attention to those things and I noticed the struggle, my mother tried very hard to keep me in the dark or oblivious to those things but hello! Intuitive child over here!
What was the purpose of this? Why bring all of these things up? Because no matter our childhood, no matter the circumstances that led us to be where we are today, we hold the power. I got through things so early on that the next time it wants to break me down, I know that it is just its’ funny way of saying, there’s a breakthrough coming for you, you ready?
