Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alma Reyes Villagran. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alma, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What was the most important lesson/experience you had in a job that has helped you in your professional career?
Before starting my career, I worked for the banking industry, there was something that they began to implement a few months before I left the company and it was something called ” personal growth”, I didn’t know much about the subject at that time but they gave us 2 hours a month paid for us and we could use it however we wanted, whether it was studying, reading , really anything there were colleagues and even I used it to go to go shopping many times. But then I really started trying to understand what personal growth was “and if it hadn’t been for that I don’t think I would be where I am right now.”

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I am Guatemalan nationality, I came to Maryland when I was 12 years old. I went to college to get a degree in psychology and criminology. I am married I have 3 children 2 girls and a boy. I dedicate myself full time to real estate and investments, to my family, my church and I also help as an interpreter in schools and social services. What got me in the business was the idea to be able to earn money while taking care of my children or to be able to take them to their medical appointments or stay home if they were sick without having to ask someone for permission. help and I say help because I don’t think I’m selling anything I believe that with my services and knowledge I help people to obtain or sell their properties based on the situation they are in. I also help a lot of investors flip properties or rent them.
this is a very competitive industry and I really don’t feel that I compete with anyone other than myself every day, and if I have learned anything it is that my work and my effort is not negotiable in price and that not all clients are for me, nor am I the Realtor for everyone.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
From the first day I started this business, if I was not clear on many things, there was something that I was very clear about and it was that social networks were going to become a great tool for me. I dedicated myself to creating a lot of content about everything I did as a professional and personally because I have my own life and I am like any mother and wife and this has brought 70% of my clients.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
