We were lucky to catch up with Alma De Leon recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alma, appreciate you joining us today. Are you happier as a creative? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job? Can you talk to us about how you think through these emotions?

I recently became unemployed after 11 years at a corporate position. I have been playing music with my band for 20 years and running my own hadmade jewelry store as well all while i was working full time.

The freedom and creative boost I am experiencing right now from not having to work a 9-5 job is amazing.
I am focusing 100% on my shop and music. I know that there is a high posibility that I will have to go back to working at a regular job and it is heartbreaking. I am working hard to suceed as my own boss and entrepreneur.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I first picked up a guitar at 14, and by 17, I’d formed my band, Coatl. Since then, we’ve released four albums and toured extensively across the US, Mexico, Costa Rica, and Cuba. The thrill of performing live and connecting with audiences is an unparalleled experience. Coatl has been an incredible journey of musical exploration and friendship.

In 2016, I embarked on a new adventure with Eternal Blissed, my spiritual brand. It started with a simple blog and YouTube channel, where I shared my passion for tarot, crystals, energy healing, and spirituality. As the brand grew, I felt drawn to the tangible, and so I opened an Etsy shop for handmade jewelry. With no prior experience, I took a leap of faith and taught myself the craft through countless YouTube tutorials.

I’m a firm believer in the power of self-education, and platforms like YouTube have been instrumental in my growth. From mastering jewelry making to understanding SEO and e-commerce, it’s been a rewarding journey. Today, Eternal Blissed offers not only handmade jewelry but also tarot readings, and I’m currently developing a tarot reading course. Helping others connect with their intuition and find clarity is a deeply fulfilling aspect of my work.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

Building a loyal following and customer base hinges on consistency and genuine engagement. Creating content that is fun, informative, and authentic is key to resonating with your audience. Vulnerability and honesty are essential for building trust and fostering deeper connections.

Interacting with your community is paramount. Responding to comments, sharing user-generated content, and supporting fellow creators not only strengthens relationships but also boosts your visibility on the platform. A diverse content strategy is crucial. While I began with blogging and YouTube, I’ve expanded my reach to include Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?

Some of my favorite books that have helped me grow as a person and manage challenging situations and emotions include: The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz, The Bhagavad Gita, and Guaranteed Solutions by Paramahamsa Nithyananda.
