We were lucky to catch up with Allyson Goodman recently and have shared our conversation below.
Allyson, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
It’s not a secret that managing social media is a demanding endeavor. When I first thought about becoming a full-time social media manager, I was juggling an 8-5 marketing specialist job, essentially handling an entire marketing operation solo. I was wearing numerous hats, and it was quite overwhelming. Social media had always been a side passion project for me. It was during this time that I realized many business owners either disliked dealing with their social media presence or simply lacked the time to manage it, as they were busy running their businesses and didn’t want to worry about daily posts.
My venture, Socially, came to life when I felt I had no other choice. I was working for a company that didn’t appreciate its employees, expected a lot but treated us poorly. My career was nearing its end due to an employee retreat I couldn’t attend because of my young children at home. So, I had two options: find a new job or embrace the hustle.
I chose to focus on the aspect of marketing that truly ignited my passion, which was social media. I already had a few clients, and my goal was to expand my client base.
Social media management offers a significantly more cost-effective solution for businesses compared to hiring a full-time employee. Marketing specialists typically earn around $50,000 annually, but by outsourcing social media, businesses can cut that cost in half. This makes it an efficient solution for a task that many teams often lack the time to handle.
Additionally, there’s the educational aspect of my business. I cater to business owners like realtors or hairstylists who might not be ready to hire a social media manager but recognize the importance of learning strategies and developing a seamless workflow to handle their social media like professionals.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Absolutely! I’m more than happy to share my journey and what makes me unique in my industry.
I entered the world of Social Media Marketing through a blend of passion and necessity. Initially, I was a content creator, marketing specialist, and then marketing director.. However, it was during this time that I discovered my true calling and decided to fully immerse myself in social media management. It was a leap of faith, but it felt right.
In terms of products/services/creative works, I specialize in social media strategy and full management. These services are designed to save business owners money and worry of standing out online. What sets me apart from others in my field is storytelling marketing. I strongly believe that bringing authenticity back into social media is the way of the future, and it’s the only way to convert following into business.
For potential clients, or followers, I want them to know that social media doesn’t have to be hard and EVERYTHING is CONTENT.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share my story with your readers

We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
Yes 100% social media was always just a side passion of mine. I kept up to date with trends, algorithms, and marketing tactics.
Funny enough my love for social media came when 2020 lockdowns happened and I went viral on TikTok and built a following of 50k in 3 months. I learned what worked and geeked out over it. I started getting amazing brand deals and people started paying me to help them on their content and make content for their business. Now I have ran other companies social pages for fun before this but this is what game me the initial idea of starting my business.
I just wanted to be sure I knew everything before starting. I wanted to be sure what I offered my clients was way different than every other social media marketer.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
My clients aren’t just my clients they are family. I treat their business just like I treat my own when creating goals and strategies. I track and monitor what is and isn’t working and we form solutions to make sure we are always moving in a positive direction.
I also have a non compete clause. This means when I sign on a client in a specific profession I will not sign on another client in that same field. I feel like this sets me above because I give full loyalty to my client in a first come first serve basis and they know I am here for them and not their competitors.
