Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Allonia Water. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Allonia, thanks for joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
I have taken many risks, but the one that stands out the most is starting my own company. I have always been accustomed to working in the corporate world, so taking a chance on myself was challenging. I come from a background of trauma and abuse, and I wanted to share that message with others. I wanted to create a safe space to share stories, heal, and grow together on our journeys. I also went through a period of being bedridden for vitamin deficiencies and a severe hormonal imbalance. The practices of Ayurveda, Herbalism, and Reiki saved me. They were my backbone when I had no energy to face my day. When I thought I was transitioning out of the world, they were everything to me. In reality, I was transitioning to my higher self, as Allonia Water, a shaman to the masses.
I wanted to share how to support our bodies more naturally and lovingly. A part of the healing journey is taking care of yourself by eating the right foods. As a result, I became an Ayurvedic nutritionist to support the body while the mind and spirit healed. My multi-faceted company focuses on the mind, body, and spirit. Yet, I also have an herbalism and shamanic component in this model. I share drumming, meditations, and healing mantras to uplift and foster a sense of healing. We are all unique individuals and should be treated as such. In Western Medicine, all beings are treated as a “condition”; therefore, it is not as individualized as Ayurveda. As an herbalist, you supply medicine to the masses but must also consistently partake in the medicine. I live and breathe the mission of my company.
Otherwise, how else would you know if it works or not? This could be challenging for some because some forms of herbal medicine can take longer to work than others. Therefore, patience is vital. Overall, I am glad I chose to open Sticks, Stones, and Roots. It is a company that helps trauma survivors find their footing and return to homeostasis. It is also a community for those on a wellness journey who want to be supported in a non-traditional way. The company changes daily, and I have met some great individuals.
I am looking forward to the future!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am Allonia Water, Medicine Woman. I am a dedicated herbalist, Certified Ayurveda Nutritionist, Reiki Master, yoga instructor, and intuitive healer passionate about holistic healing and well-being. I have witnessed the transformative power of herbs and Reiki in the lives of countless individuals.
My journey into Reiki (and other modalities) began as a quest for inner balance, vitality, and peace. This profound practice has enriched my life and allowed me to guide others on their paths to healing and self-discovery.
Reiki, which means “universal life energy,” is the core of my practice. Through gentle touch (or distance healing) and energy channeling, I facilitate positive energy flow within your body, promoting physical, emotional, and spiritual harmony. Shamanism is also the core of my practice. Utilizing chants, drumming, and other resources, I help clients release stagnant or blocked energy to transform into their higher selves. I also offer Ayurvedic Consultations. These sessions are two hours long and extensively cover the client’s health conditions. I provide herbal medicine, a movement plan, journaling exercises, and weekly check-ins to track progress.
I want others to know that Sticks, Stones, and Roots differ from other practitioners. Your well-being is our priority, and we look forward to participating in your healing journey. Here at Sticks, Stones, and Roots, we believe in sharing the tools and wisdom that have helped us grow while acknowledging the detrimental experiences.
We are dedicated to providing informative content that can empower you on your healing path. Through our articles, resources, and personal stories, we hope to inspire and support you as you navigate your ups and downs.
We understand that healing is a unique and personal journey; no one-size-fits-all approach exists. I am most proud of the fact that I am authentic. I have been through trauma and survived it. I have been sick and ignored by doctors and bounced back by being kind to myself, reconnecting to the earth, and using herbal medicine. My spirituality is a big part of who I am, seen through my character and relationship with my clients.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Over the years, I have faced many battles. When I was young, I was sexually abused and pregnant at a young age. Yet, I survived. My story is not pretty, but I know I have endured much to be my most authentic self and help others. Over a year ago, I faced the most significant health scare of my life. Everything changed within my body, and I thought that I would die. While lying in bed, I decided to change my diet and thought process. I decided that if I woke up each day, I would continue to work on myself. I never gave up on myself, even when it was hard. I learned during this process how to have compassion toward myself and be kind. I also learned about the beauty that resides in life and human beings. I learned so much about myself that I would not have known if I were not so sick. Each day is a challenge, but it gets better and better.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I am more than enough, just how I am. Growing up, I did not speak positive affirmations or hear, “I am so proud of you.” I looked for validation from so many people and never found it. I learned that no one, not even my parents, could provide me with words they never heard. As I got older, I stopped seeking acceptance and validation from others. What I do in the world is good enough, especially if I know I am on the right path. I can speak affirmations over my own life and into the lives of others to brighten their days. I am not defined by others and what they can or cannot do for me. Who said I have to be a certain way? All I have to do is be me and show up in my truth and authenticity.
