Allison, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?

That’s a fantastic question! It’s interesting because my creative journey wasn’t a single moment, but a series of passions coming together.

Growing up in Costa Rica, I was always drawn to music. Maybe it started with pretending to have my own radio show, or maybe it was a specific Christian artist that resonated with me. Whatever the spark, there were always melodies in my head and stories waiting to be told.

Later on, the digital world opened up, and I saw the power of connecting and inspiring others online. Whether through music, sharing God’s message, or discussing relevant issues, I felt called to use these amazing tools to reach a wider audience. You never know who might be listening, and if I can help someone find hope or purpose, then I’m fulfilling what I believe is my calling.

Ultimately, my faith fuels everything I do. For me, creativity and spirituality are intertwined – it’s all one big beautiful expression. So, while the path wasn’t linear, it’s always been about using my voice and passions to connect with people and make a positive impact.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

Growing up in beautiful Costa Rica, I discovered a passion for media during my university years. After winning a casting call, I landed a segment on a morning show – a fantastic launchpad for my media career! The job was brief, but I gained sufficient experience that fueled me to where I am now. Before making the move to the United States a couple of years ago, I leveraged my background in social work and education by working as an elementary school teacher and a Portuguese teacher for second-language learners. Fast forward to my life in Florida now, my two segments have ignited a love for connecting with people through audio. Later, the digital world opened up a whole new dimension for sharing my music, faith, and thoughts. This is where I found my calling!

As a radio host for Radio Restauracion, Tampa, I get to have inspiring conversations and share uplifting music. As a singer-songwriter, I pour my heart into music that hopefully resonates with listeners. I am working on my single that will come out in the near future. And as a Christian digital creator, I use online platforms to connect with people, discuss relevant topics, and share God’s message in a fresh way.

My mission is simple: to use my voice and passions to connect with people, inspire hope, and make a positive impact. What sets me apart? Maybe it’s the blend of faith, music, and everyday conversations we explore. Maybe it’s the raw authenticity and joy I try to bring to everything I do. Ultimately, I believe it’s about creating a space where people feel welcome, encouraged, and connected to something bigger than themselves.

I’m most proud of the messages I receive from listeners and followers who say my work has touched their lives in some way. That’s why I keep creating! At the same time, I am working on my ow vulnerabilities. I’ve experience many changes in the past two years and the people I’ve met have made a long lasting impression and the best thing I can do for them and for myself is to continue to give – at the same time, the audience has given me so much I feel stronger than ever.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

First, it’s the connection. As a radio host, singer-songwriter, and digital creator, I get to connect with people on a deep level. Sharing my faith, music, and thoughts allows others to share theirs, and that creates a beautiful space of community and understanding. It’s so encouraging to hear from listeners or followers who say my work has resonated with them, that they feel uplifted or inspired. Knowing I can make a positive difference in someone’s life – that’s pure gold! Second, there’s the creative journey itself. It’s such a fulfilling process to take an idea, a melody, or a message and turn it into something tangible. Whether it’s crafting a radio show segment or developing engaging online content, there’s a joy in the act of creation. It allows me to express myself authentically and share a piece of my heart with the world.
So, the reward is twofold: connecting with others and experiencing the joy of creation. It’s truly a blessing to be able to do both!

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?

As a creative myself, I believe a thriving creative ecosystem is essential for a healthy and vibrant society. I truly believe we can all support artists and creatives by: • Becoming an Active Consumer: Seek out and engage with the work of artists you admire. Seek out positive content. Go to concerts, buy music or books, subscribe to their channels, and leave genuine reviews or comments. Every bit of interaction helps!
• Embracing Different Voices: The beauty of art lies in its diversity. Step outside your comfort zone and explore works from different backgrounds and perspectives. Especially those bringing the word of God to every corner of the world.
• Be Kind & Respectful Always!!!: Creating art is a vulnerable act. While constructive criticism is always valuable, negativity can be discouraging. Let’s foster a supportive environment where artists feel empowered to take risks and share their gifts.
By taking these steps, we can all play a part in nurturing a thriving creative ecosystem where artists, digital creators, and those brining messages to humanity can flourish and share their unique perspectives with the world.
