We were lucky to catch up with Allison Germann recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Allison, thanks for joining us today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
Wild Flour Eatery: From Dream to Reality – A Journey of Passion and Perseverance
Launching Wild Flour Eatery has been a journey woven from equal parts vision, dedication, and hard work. It all started with a love for quality bread and a desire to bring health-focused, fresh-milled sourdough to our community. I knew there was something special in the connection between good food and well-being—so the question became: how could I turn this passion into something real?
The idea sparked in my mind for a while, but I’ll never forget the moment I decided to take action. I spent hours researching the art and science of sourdough, the benefits of fresh milling, and the local ingredients I wanted to use. The journey truly began with testing recipes in my own kitchen, experimenting with different grains and fermenting techniques to create a bread that wasn’t just delicious but also gentle on the belly.
. It was a massive learning curve. But with the support of my family, especially my brother, who joined me in this adventure full-time, and my fiancé Nicholas, who was there every night to help with packaging and production, I slowly began to build Wild Flour Eatery’s foundation.
Then came the biggest milestone: securing our own storefront for production and distribution. This was a leap of faith and an exhilarating moment that made Wild Flour more than a dream; it was becoming a reality. Each loaf of sourdough, every fresh-baked muffin, all the English muffins—everything is made with a dedication to quality and care, with each product blessed as it’s created.
Now, as Wild Flour Eatery continues to grow, my heart is full seeing the way our bread is welcomed into the community. We’re not just selling bread; we’re sharing a piece of our story and passion with each bite. Our journey is still unfolding, and I’m endlessly grateful for the support of our customers and community who’ve embraced Wild Flour as part of their daily lives.
Wild Flour Eatery stands for community, health, and the healing power of food. From that very first idea to every late-night bake, it’s been a journey worth every step.

Allison, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hello! I’m Allison, the founder of Wild Flour Eatery. My journey into the world of bread-making wasn’t traditional—it began with a passion for nourishing food and a drive to bring health-focused, handcrafted sourdough to my community. Growing up, I always had a deep appreciation for wholesome foods, but it was only after exploring the art of fresh milling and the magic of sourdough fermentation that I found my calling in crafting bread that’s as kind to the belly as it is to the soul.
At Wild Flour Eatery, our mission is simple yet profound: to create sourdough and fresh-milled breads that nourish and heal, made with love and a commitment to quality ingredients. We offer a range of artisan breads and baked goods, from loaves of sourdough to muffins, English muffins, and seasonal specialties—all made fresh with locally-sourced grains and an emphasis on digestive health.
Our products solve a real need for many of our customers. We hear time and again from people who have struggled with digestive issues that our bread is something they can enjoy without discomfort. By fresh-milling the grains and using a natural fermentation process, we create a product that’s nutrient-dense and easy on the stomach, perfect for those seeking wholesome, health-conscious options.
What sets us apart is our dedication to community and mindfulness. Each loaf is blessed and crafted with care, and we’re as invested in the people who enjoy our bread as we are in the quality of each batch. My family, friends, and even customers have become part of this journey, and that support fuels our commitment to create a positive impact one loaf at a time.
I’m most proud of the trust we’ve built within our community and the joy people find in our products. For potential followers or new customers, I want them to know that every item we bake at Wild Flour is rooted in a love for wholesome food, crafted to nourish, and meant to bring a little more joy and wellness to everyday life. We’re more than just bread—we’re a community built around quality, care, and connection. Thank you for being part of our story!

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Building our audience on social media has been a journey of consistency, authenticity, and passion. With the guidance of my fiancé, Nicholas—who’s been an incredible mentor with a real knack for marketing—I’ve learned so much about connecting with people online. He’s taught me to embrace the power of consistency, reminding me to “post, post, post,” and to let our passion shine through in everything we share.
From the start, we focused on showcasing the heart behind Wild Flour Eatery. We shared not just our products but the story, the process, and the people behind the scenes. We wanted our followers to feel like they’re part of our journey. My advice to anyone just starting out: show up as your true self. Share what you love about what you do, be real with your audience, and don’t be afraid to be consistent. It’s those genuine moments and daily posts that really resonate and keep people coming back for more.

How do you keep your team’s morale high?
Managing a team, especially in a business that thrives on passion and quality, means creating an environment where everyone feels connected, valued, and inspired. My journey with Wild Flour Eatery has shown me just how much high morale influences the quality of our products and the experience we create for our customers.
My advice for maintaining high morale begins with open communication and mutual respect. It’s essential to keep everyone on the same page, whether it’s sharing the daily goals or discussing the bigger vision for the business. At Wild Flour, we’re a family-driven team, and I make a point to appreciate everyone’s hard work, from my brother who’s with me full-time to Nicholas, who’s not only my fiancé but a true supporter in both life and business.
Creating moments of connection also goes a long way. We make it a priority to celebrate wins—whether it’s a successful market day or a new milestone in the business. And when challenges come up, we face them as a team.
Another key piece of advice? Foster a culture where everyone’s ideas and contributions matter. When team members feel like their voices are heard, it builds trust and motivation.
At the end of the day, morale is about more than just keeping spirits high; it’s about building a team that believes in the purpose and values of the business. When everyone feels invested, it transforms the work into something meaningful, and that energy radiates through everything we do at Wild Flour.
Staying positive and excited for what’s next! I can’t wait to start building a team that shares the passion and vision of Wild Flour Eatery. Here’s to new beginnings and big dreams!
