Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Allie Wyatt. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Allie , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Character. This is such a key factor when it comes to success and connection. Through my journey in this career, I have found myself surrounded by friendships and connections with people who trust me and I can trust as well. These clients have become valued friends and faithful clients that I find joy in capturing and catching up with each time we work together. Just recently, I had a session with a long term client who expressed mid session that she is go glad she found me and has gotten to know me as she doesn’t know that should would feel confident with just another photographer. This was my goal-not just in my business but as my life’s driving mission. Success for me has come from connection, care and truly seeking to make a difference in each person’s life for the better; whether that be a comforting conversation, confidence boosting session or memories delivered that highlight the beauty each life brings to the world.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
One of the first questions I actually get it where did “Jewell” come from? Well, my name is Jewell but I have always gone by Allie. I am happily married and am a mom of three littles; A bio son, bonus daughter & together baby boy.
The creative life chose me at a very young age and I have always been enticed by the arts. From over 8 years as a competitive dancer, an assistant to an interior designer, a DIY fanatic to date etc-when photography landed in my lap, simply put, it stuck!
Over time, I’ve worked at mastering the trade and have more recently found a passion in helping others succeed in their industry through personality capturing branding content. While I do offer a wide variety of photography services, lifestyle branding is where I feel I thrive. The thing that most clients express sets me apart in this particular line of work is the attention to detail and confidence in direction I offer my clients. As we work together, I am immediately envisioning those final images; Looking to both reflect personality while also directing to compose a final product they can be confident in.
Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Community! This one I will keep short. Community over competition is huge in every industry. As I navigated through the ups and downs of this journey, it would have been so emboldening to have the comrades in the photography community I do now. These friendships have recently played a big part in getting me to the point I am now but creatively and in growing my clientele.
We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
I have actually become friends with a lot of my clients through social media, resulting in interaction through shared life events. Because of that connection, a lot of them simply contact me via social platforms when they have a need for photography services. More recently, I have started integrating email campaigns for big events and specials which has proved to be a helpful approach. As far as fostering loyalty, Jewell Allene Photo offers a referral discount for every referral session booked. When booking a session, if a client relays they were referred, a credit will be applied to any future booking made by the referrer. I find clients really appreciate this gesture and it thrills me to offer more than a “thank you” to my loyal clients.
