We recently connected with Allie Shane and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Allie thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
Bottle Service is proud to have a team of all woman bartenders! The bar industry is definitely male dominated, so to be woman owned and have an all female staff is special. We have had a lot of success since we changed our business model in this way.
We also love to represent and serve the LGBTQ+ community and we aim to promote inclusivity, empowerment and overall good vibes! I think that smart consumers want to put their money where their heart is. Supporting small businesses, supporting woman and minority owned businesses. When planning something very expensive, like a wedding, clients have a choice to hire vendors that represent them and their beliefs, and I think there is a lot of power in that.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I have been a wedding and event planner for over 15 years. In 2020, when the wedding industry was essentially canceled, I did whatever I could to keep my events alive. And for about a year, that meant keeping the number of people on-site as low as possible. With years of bar and restaurant experience under my belt, it made sense to have members of my own team step into as many roles as possible! So service, bar (and sometimes even music and florals) were all managed by our small staff.
Bottle Service was born out of necessity, but as events grew, so did we! From small backyard weddings, we quickly started landing clients like Equinox and Tik Tok, along with vendor and venue partners. I think what sets Bottle Service apart, along with our exceptional all female staff, is that I am an event planner before a mixologist. Making great drinks is important of course, but understanding the logistics of load in and timing, and working with vendor partners is also vital to an overall amazing customer experience.

How do you keep your team’s morale high?
Creating a loyal team has been a huge priority for both of my businesses. I think paying people well, treating them with respect and creating friendships fosters a work environment that people actually enjoy – and when you have that, you have hard working, loyal employees!
Event bartending is not for the faint of heart. We have many events that our team is working in the dark or cold, working long hours, lifting heavy equipment etc. I love that we have a strong group of women that never complain about the difficult, physical aspects of the job. Having high morale is a non-negotiable for me, and I do my best to ensure that our team feels heard, and taken care of.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I firmly believe our reputation is built on our exceptional team and service they provide. We have incredible drinks don’t get me wrong (everything is made from scratch with fresh ingredients!) But our team goes above and beyond to make the guest experience so much more than the cocktails.
Remembering people’s names and orders, dancing along with the DJ, creating something custom on the spot, helping the other vendors, working FAST to ensure good service for large groups….and all with a smile on their face! We want the entire event planning experience to be easy and fun, so when you first contact us and I send you a proposal, to our social media presence, and of course, our service at events, should represent our brand.
