We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Alliah Cabradilla. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Alliah below.
Alliah , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Success often demands three essential elements: a supportive network, effective time management, and a willingness to embrace failure. Sacrifices, whether big or small, are inherent in this pursuit. They don’t necessarily entail giving up everything, but they do demand your time and dedication. At times, you may experience FOMO or fear of missing out as your friends are on nightly outings while you’re confined to a research lab. Yet, every hour spent there propels you closer to your Ph.D. goals. True friends will understand and support your ambitions, and recognize that sacrifice is an inevitable part of the journey toward success. Missing out on things occasionally is inevitable, but it’s essential to recognize if it’s becoming a frequent occurrence. Managing this requires a positive mindset and a forward-thinking approach. I prioritize structure and planning, informing my friends that spontaneous plans may disrupt my carefully organized schedule. By proactively managing my time, I ensure every hour is purposefully utilized.
As a full-time college student aspiring to become a veterinarian, my days are packed from morning till night with work, study, socializing, and more. Despite the chaos, I do try to find moments to organize myself, jotting down notes and maintaining a detailed calendar. While mastering time management isn’t immediate, it’s a lifelong skill worth honing that can be useful for everything.
Failure is another aspect we must address. It’s crucial to dispel the notion that failing in one endeavor equates to perpetual failure. Instead, failure will teach you resilience and the importance of perseverance. By giving our best efforts and staying true to ourselves, we pave the way for eventual success. True success comes from acknowledging our hard work and dedication, regardless of setbacks that may arise.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
For those of you who have not heard about me before, my name is Alliah. I am 20 years old and a full-time college student. I am currently in my 3rd year of undergrad at the University of California, Merced, I am pursuing a BS in Microbiology and Immunology to become a veterinarian and open my practice someday. Alongside my academic journey, I’ve delved into content creation and social media, which started as a hobby but has evolved into a potential side job and a way to share what makes me happy and what I find beautiful.
.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Building my presence on social media was definitely not easy, and it’s still a journey I’m navigating! It’s both fun and exciting to know that around 500 people, at most, view my content, and approximately 300 people recognize my existence on social media. With just over 4500 supporters in my social media community, the experience feels surreal. Here are some honest-to-Earth personal experiences that might be helpful for those starting out.
You don’t need to follow these in order but, here are just some things I generally do when building my presence: be authentic, be truthful, and be patient. When you’re a small creator who also likes to make social media a creative hobby. It is a little hard to not be all of these three items with yourself, but I think that being authentic is something that not a lot of people have. People want to see your content for who you are, and not just because you’re copying the trend. Show some personality, show some pizazz but do not be dishonest about what kind of person you are. Be truthful about what you believe in and stand your ground, because there will be people who will doubt you in this journey, and say words that are mean and hurtful. There will always be people who will support you from afar and from a screen away just because they know what kind of person you really are, so being authentic and truthful to yourself and your community is such a big step in welcoming those people who are going to support your journey in the long run.
Going viral is a one out of 10 chance that not all of us will immediately achieve. The algorithm is constantly changing and it is always updating so do not be discouraged if your content views just suddenly drop. Assess the issue, and see what others are talking about, but still stay true to your content and what makes you who you are- and showcase what resonates with you and your well-being and be patient. The algorithm will pick up your content sometime again, and if all else fails, then start anew! It’s always such a fresh feeling when starting anew because you get to reset! Not a lot of people will like this, so all they can do is be patient! Your content will reach the right people, and your efforts will be seen. Just be patient with yourself and your growth on here because we are all also just trying to make a presence on social media.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect is being able to meet all of these beautiful and kind girls who just help support one another. From the smallest creator to the biggest creator, we are all just trying to support one another and grow. E-meeting all of these wonderful people who uplift you and make connections is just a feeling of reward knowing that my efforts are being seen, especially as I build my community on my social media pages, it feels so refreshing that there are genuine people whom I have not even met that just supports me and watches what I create. Working with the amazing brands that I used to look up to and use all the time, is something that I still kind of get shocked about- the fact that these brands know I exist and see potential in me is so rewarding.
