We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Alli Vasquez a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alli, appreciate you joining us today. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
A defining moment in my professional career was when God completely pulled me out of the fitness industry. It was a tough time because fitness had always been my passion and purpose. When we sold our CrossFit business, it was an emotional and heartbreaking decision, but little did we know, it was part of a much bigger plan. Soon after, we had a son with special needs, which completely changed the trajectory of our lives.
This was a major turning point for me. Fitness was in my blood; it was what fueled me. So, being pulled from a career and a community I loved required a lot of soul-searching, refinement, and personal growth. I spent time in deep prayer, asking God to “search my heart” and to guide me through this season of life. I was stretched in ways I could have never imagined—not just professionally, but also as a mother to a son with special needs.
Despite the challenges, this season brought incredible growth. My relationship with the Lord deepened, and our family grew closer in ways I never thought possible. It was a time of refining my priorities, learning to be fully present, and embracing the role I had been given at home.
Then, five and a half years later, I was launched back into the fitness industry full-time—with a new perspective, a heart full of gratitude, and more passion than ever before. That period of stepping away allowed me to return stronger, with renewed vision and purpose.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My personal mission is to motivate through words and inspire through actions, empowering others to recognize their potential and embrace their greatness. What I’m most proud of is developing branded fitness formats that focus on the whole person. At Arco Fit, we’ve created something truly unique by integrating mindset into all of our classes, not just our mind-body sessions.
We intentionally begin each class with a mental reset and close with a focus on gratitude, believing that where the mind goes, energy flows. This approach goes beyond just physical movement—it’s about transforming lives from the inside out. Combining these mindset shifts with body movement, which releases endorphins and boosts overall well-being, has the power to transform mind, body, and soul.
As the Group Fitness Brand Developer and Manager for Arco Fit, I’m excited to see lives change through this holistic approach, leading a team that helps clients reach their full potential.
I am honored and excited to walk alongside our members as they experience amazing change, one class at a time.
Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
Beyond training and knowledge, the most crucial aspect of succeeding in the fitness industry is recognizing that fitness is, at its core, a people business. It’s not just about exercises, routines, or programs—it’s about bringing value to people by seeing and treating them as valuable individuals. In group fitness especially, it’s about fostering a sense of community, camaraderie, and deep connection. The relationships and friendships built in this space often last a lifetime, because fitness is about so much more than the physical—it’s about transforming lives on multiple levels. That’s the real win.
As trainers and fitness professionals, it’s our job to help clients develop “body wisdom.” This means teaching them to understand, listen to, and learn from their own bodies—what works, what doesn’t, and how to make adjustments along the way. This process takes time, education, and guidance from us as coaches. We provide the instruction, but ultimately, it’s about empowering clients to know themselves better so they can thrive.
When we step into the studio, it’s important to remember that it’s not about us—it’s all about the people we serve. Our goal is to bring out the best in them, helping them move better, live better, and feel better so they can live their best lives. Fitness is a tool for transformation, and our role is to facilitate that journey.
Most importantly, success in this field comes from living out what we teach. We can be passionate about fitness, movement, and wellness, but actually practicing what we preach—living with authenticity, transparency, and integrity—is where true impact happens. When we show up as our best selves, we inspire our members to do the same. That authenticity is what sets us apart and creates lasting change.

Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?
Absolutely, yes! As a prayerful person, I truly believe this path was chosen for me, rather than me choosing it. I’ve always been an encourager, motivator, mentor, and communicator, so fitness is a natural fit.
But ultimately, it’s about the people. I love fitness, but even more, I love connecting with and helping people. I’m grateful that this is the path God carved out for me—it aligns perfectly with who I am and what I’m passionate about. I wouldn’t change a thing!
